Chemistry is key for Springfield High swimming/diving team

Not only is the team stacked with strong competitors, but the camaraderie is undeniable. The Senators have parlayed a historic season right up to the Springfield Sectional that will be held Saturday at Eisenhower Pool. Springfield High girls bounce Quincy 57-30, advance to regional finals

Lanphier Defeats Rochester

4 days ago LANPHIER 64, ROCHESTER 32: At Lober-Nika Gymnasium, junior Cardell McGee scored 19 points to lead the Lions and give coach Blake Turner his 100th coaching victory. Turner is in his fifth year as Lanphier head coach. He is 100-37 in his career. Yaakema Rose added 15 points for the Lions (20-3, 13-2). 4 days ago Brady Hays scored 20 points to put Jacksonville High School in position to win, but the Crimsons still had to sweat out a buzzer-beater attempt in a 56-54 win over Springfield High at the JHS Bowl Tuesday. Jacksonville senior center Brandon McCombs, who came into the game shooting 63 percent at the free-throw line (60 of 96), missed two free throws that would've iced the win for the Crimsons (17-9 overall, 8-7 Central State Eight Conference).
