SE wins one in tourney

Mar 25, 2012 Mike Ringer scored twice and pitched four scoreless innings giving up no hits as the Southeast Spartans defeated Dixon 3-2 at the Galesburg Tournament. Josh Baldwin went 2 for 2 for the Spartans. Robbie Cooper went 2-2 in another tournament game but SE dropped a 6-1 decision to Metamora.

Stuva, SHS shutout Alton

Mar 25, 2012 Briana Hickman scored 2 goals and Julia Rosen added one as Springfield High School defeated Alton 3-0 in the non-conference contest. Katie Stuva was in goal for the Lady Senators making six saves for her 6th shutout this season. SHS is now 5-1-1.

SHS relay, Bremhorst, top finishers

Mar 25, 2012 The Springfield High School 4x400 meter relay team of Dalton Timm, Sam Cross, Malik Harrison and Peter Bremhorst finished 3rd (3:24:34) at the Illinois Top Times Indoor Championship at Illinois Wesleyan University. Bremhorst also finished 3rd in the 400 with a time of 50.79 seconds.

Lions finish 4th in IHSA Class 3A State Finals

Mar 18, 2012 Congratulations to the Lanphier Lions boy's basketball team as they completed a fantastic season with a 4th place finish at the Peoria Civic Center. The Lions completed a very successful season with a 28-5 record with season wins over state ranked Peoria Manual, Chatham-Glenwood and eventual state champion Peoria Central. Bremhorst captures 400 meter title

Mar 18, 2012 Congratulations to Springfield High School's Peter Bremhorst for winning the 400-meters at the Eastern Illinois University indoor meet. Bremhorst's time was 51.38 seconds as SHS tied for 4th with 34 points.

SE wins Invitational; SHS wins 1st in relay

Mar 18, 2012 Charday Crawford led the Southeast Lady Spartans to a first place finish at the Gene Armer Indoor Invitational at Champaign. Crawford won the 200-meter dash as the team won the 39-team event with 47 points. Springfield High School's 4x800 relay also took first in 10:04.82.

SHS graduate to be inducted to Sports Hall of Fame

Mar 18, 2012 Congratulations to former Springfield High School star football and baseball player, Mike Suppan, as he will be inducted into the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame on March 26 at the Crowne Plaza. Suppan graduated in 1971 and elected to walk on for Bob Blackmon's Illini football team. He later earned a scholarship for his last 3 seasons.
