6th Grade Orientation

Dear Parents/Guardians of 6th Grade Students,

The summer is quickly ending, and it is nearly time for a new school year to begin. With that in mind, I wanted to send you some important information regarding 6th Grade Orientation that is scheduled for the morning of August 14, 2012 at your child’s respective school. This is a time for students to learn about middle school, make some new friends, and ease any anxiety they might have.

You should receive information from your middle school principal in addition to this letter; however, I wanted you to have this letter in advance to help with your planning. The schedules for the schools are as follows:

Franklin Middle School 8:00-9:30
Grant Middle School 8:00-12:00
Jefferson Middle School 8:00-1:00
Lincoln Magnet 8:00-10:00
Washington Middle School 8:00-12:00
Capital College Preparatory Academy 9:15-11:15

Parents/Guardians of 6th Grade Students at Franklin Middle School and Capital College Preparatory Academy are invited to attend the entire day of orientation. The other schools have events planned for parents/guardians at a later date.

Please find, with this letter, the bus routes and times for student pick-up. School names are printed at the top of each sheet.

The school staffs are looking forward to a wonderful year. Please do not hesitate to contact the teachers or deans should any questions occur. They are the first steps in resolving concerns.
