Two exciting events in Springfield Public Schools are set for tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 10.

Former Dubois Student to Present Donation Friday

WHO: Dubois Elementary and former student and Springfield native Don Bolin

WHAT: A presentation of a $5,000 donation to be used for technology and school environment goals. HyVee is catering breakfast and Bolin will tour the school.

WHEN: 8:30 AM, Friday, Oct. 10

WHERE: Dubois Elementary School library

“Dubois is pleased to welcome Mr. Bolin and his former Dubois colleagues,” said Dubois Principal Donna Jefferson.” It is always an honor to have former students return to pay homage to their educational beginnings. It is an extraordinary honor to receive this check of $5,000, which will be used to assist us in our technology and school environment goals.”

Music and Arts Assembly at Southeast Friday

WHO: Southeast High School students and national touring arts group High School Nation

WHAT: A two-hour music and arts assembly for the entire Southeast student body, including a headlining live performance by Nickelodeon’s Drake Bell. There will also be stations set up for students to explore careers in art, film, photography, music and media. Some students will serve as the stage crew for the live performance.
