Dear District families, teaching staff and administrators,

We are currently taking applications for a new cohort of students for the Physician Pipeline Preparatory Program (P4). Any freshman student during the 2012-13 school year who is in good academic standing is encouraged to apply.

The P4 partnership between Springfield Public Schools and the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine recruits a diverse group of students who want to become physicians and provides support, leadership opportunities, and a variety of hands-on experiences to assist them in pursuing this goal.

We ask for your support in helping to promote the program and recruit student candidates.

Any current 8th grade student who wants to become a physician is strongly encouraged to apply. Applications will be available at the guidance and/or main offices of participant schools, at the SPS administrative office, and on the District’s web site, www.sps186.org/P4. This opportunity is open to all students who live within SPS school boundaries (including parochial schools).
