Physician Pipeline Preparatory Program (P4)

The Physician Pipeline Preparatory Program is designed for High School Freshmen interested in a career as a physician. These students are invited to an experience like no other. The physician Pipeline Preparatory Program (P4), sponsored by SIU School of Medicine and Springfield Public Schools, places freshmen alongside medical students and professionals for a rigorous medical-school style curriculum introducing them to the field of medicine and exposing them to dozens of physician career possibilities.

P4 recruits a diverse group of students who want to become physicians and provides support, leadership opportunities, and a variety of hands-on experiences to assist them in pursuing this career goal. A four-year, after-school program featuring two, two-week modules of study during the academic year. P4 students are expected to remain in the program through all four years of their high school education.
