Social Skills and Friendships

Please join us Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Lawrence Educational Center, 101 E. Laurel. The training "Social Skills and Friendships" will be led by Lynde Dobson, Area Director of Special Olympics Illinois Area 17. She will speak to parents about the importance of friendship and socializing and how it can positively impact your child. She will also talk about how Special Olympics can provide your child with opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, while building lifelong friendships. Childcare is provided.

Springfield Parents for Students with Disabilities (SPSD) will hold their bimonthly meeting with district administrators immediately prior to the Parent Mentor Training from 5:00-6:00 p.m. SPSD is a group of parents working together to initiate open dialogue with district administrators and help create systemic change within special education. Feel free to attend both sessions or just one.

RSVP to Mary Wyman at 525-3060 or mwyman@sps186.org. Please call if you have any questions.
