Please join us April 14, 2015 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Lawrence Education Center, 101 East Laurel, for the monthly Parent Mentor Training. The April training "Supporting Students from the Sangamon County Juvenile Center" will offer an opportunity to meet District 186 teachers from the Sangamon County Juvenile Center and learn how to help support your student upon their return to their home school. Dr. Cynthia Mester will speak about the Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ) program. The goal of this program is to support identified youth and their families to help prevent further involvement with the legal system. This program is aimed at strengthening the youth and families' relationship between courts, probation, detention, schools, health care, mental health and other community-based services. Pizza will be served. Childcare is provided, however requires pre-pregistation. Please call Mary Wyman at 525-3060 to RSVP. See flyer for complete details.
