Softball Tryouts Update 7/26/16
Today's softball tryouts will be held at Spartan Sports Park (7012 Iron Bridge Rd, Chatham, IL) field #6 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Softball Tryouts 7/25 & 7/26
Girls Softball Tryouts will be held on July 25 & 26 at the Southeast High School Softball Field from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Tryouts are open to incoming LMS and Ball Charter School 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students. Players will need to attend both days of tryouts. Players should bring a glove, plenty of water, and sunscreen. Players may also bring their own equipment such as bats and catching gear (all bats used during the season must meet IESA/ASA legal bat standards). Physicals will be collected the first day of tryouts. Please continue to check the LMS website for possible schedule changes related to the weather. The season schedule is posted on the LMS website under the “Sports” link. If there is a conflict or if you have questions, please contact Mr. Hampsey (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Ball Charter has a goal that each student will read at least 1 step a day for 10 weeks. That is 7 steps a week for 10 weeks = 70 steps! Bring the attached log signed by your parent back to school in August and you will earn a free Bomb Pop and an extra recess!
Ball Charter is a “school of choice” in District 186. The only criterion for admission is that you reside in the Springfield School District 186 boundary area. We will be accepting new student applications for our Kindergarten through 8th grade classes beginning on Monday, January 4, 2016.
The school will have an Open House on Thursday, January 14th for all those interested in hearing about the Springfield Ball Charter School. The program begins with a presentation by Principal Matt Fraas at 6:00 pm followed by a tour of the building.
All applications will be accepted until January 29, 2016. A lottery will be held in early February to make up waiting lists for all grades. Families will be notified in March if positions are available. These waiting lists will be kept for the entire 2016-2017 school year and will be referred to as openings become available. Waiting lists are formed every year, so it is necessary to fill out an application every year.
Applications will still be accepted after the January 29th deadline and will be placed on the waiting list after the applications that were submitted by the Lottery deadline.
If you have further questions, please call the school office at 217.525.3275.
The mission of the Springfield Ball Charter School is the creation of a safe, nurturing environment that fosters learning through the development of high-quality, research-based academic programs, attention to the learning needs of individual children, and the involvement of parents in their children's education.
Parent Visitation Reminder
All parents, volunteers, and visitors to Springfield Ball Charter School are to sign-in at the main office and must wear a visitors badge while in the building. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
