Karl D. Sets Pace for Leopards
Despite an early wrong turn into the tennis court parking lot, Karl D. won the first time trial at Washington Park Thursday, August 2, with a time of 16 minutes and 10 seconds. Kody G. was the fastest 8th grader, with a time of 16:52. Ian S. was not far behind the leaders, clocking 16:56 over the two-mile course. The top girl’s time, 17:03, was run by Alexa K.; and her sister, Sophia, finished in fifth place, running the fastest time of any 5th grader, 17:58.
Overall, twenty runners met the team qualifying time of 24 minutes—already—in the pre-season. The future is bright. Great start, team!
Think you’re faster? Or maybe you would enjoy the breeze as these youngsters race past. All workouts are open. See you at Washington Park, Monday - Thursday, 9:30 - 10:30 next week.
