Apr 13, 2015 April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and to show our support, Black Hawk Elementary School students and staff wore blue to show that we support the fight against child abuse.

Congratulations Aylssa

Mar 13, 2015 Aylssa was chosen to represent Black Hawk School at the 1900 Gallery reception last week. She was one of many chosen and all recipients were honored during this reception. Her art piece will hang in the gallery at the School Board Office for one full year.

Heroes Breakfast

Feb 25, 2015 Sergeant Lawson and Trooper Pratt, with the Illinois State Police, came to our February/March Heroes Breakfast at Black Hawk. They talked to our students about the importance of eating healthy and exercising.

Benchmark Bash

Feb 20, 2015 Black Hawk students were recognized for academic excellence at our 1st Annual Benchmark Bash. Students that are on grade level in reading and/or math received a trophy and a medal was given to students that have made substantial growth this year. Congratulations from the "King Bee"!!!

A Birthday Out of the Blue

Feb 20, 2015 To help Mr. Jordan celebrate his birthday, students received very special Out of the Blue surprises. 150 pair of wacky socks were given out to students so that they would be able to wear fun socks to school like Mr. Jordan.

Student of the Month Breakfast

Feb 11, 2015 Our Students of the Month enjoyed pancakes and sausages with their families and teachers. This is one way that we celebrate students that exemplify the characteristics of a Black Hawk Bee on a daily basis.

P.B.I.S. Celebration

Feb 4, 2015 Students at Black Hawk got a BIG surprise for January's referral free celebration. A snake, hissing cock roaches, tarantula, iguana, skink, macaw oh my!! Students participated in the assembly by handling all these rescued rainforest animals and insects.

Feb 3, 2015 Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 30 community members spend their lunch working with students at Black Hawk Elementary school in the area of reading.
