Black Hawk - New ISAT Cut Scores

Mar 6, 2013 The Illinois State Board of Education raised the performance levels of the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) for elementary and middle schools. The new performance levels will align with the more rigorous Common Core State Standards but will cause a decline in the number of students who meet or exceed standards in 2013. This means there is a possibility that students that have met or exceeded in the past on the ISAT will not this year. READ MORE

ISAT Testing at Black Hawk for 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Students

Feb 20, 2013 Beginning Tuesday March 5, all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at Black Hawk and across the District will take the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT). These tests measure student achievement and show how well individual students and their schools are performing relative to the learning standards at each grade level. You can help your child prepare. Black Hawk Kindergarten (K-Night) Night

Feb 18, 2013 Kindergarten (K-Night) will be February 21, 2013 from 6-7:00pm. We are planning a night of information and introductions. Come see what our kindergarten students learn and participate in on a typical day. Children who will be 5 on or before September 1, 2013 may attend kindergarten in the fall. If you know any families that have a child that will be 5 on or before September 1, 2013, please let them know about this special night.

Black Hawk Title I Family Literacy Night and Scholastic Book Fair

Nov 25, 2012 Please come out and join us for an evening of reading fun on Thursday, November 29, from 5:30-7:00. Our instructional focus is reading comprehension at Black Hawk Elementary School, and we want all of our students to love reading. We will have exciting events and stations centered around our One School, One Book The World According to Humphrey.
