Honors Assemblies

May 15, 2013 The Capital College Preparatory Academy invites parents and family members to join us for two end-of-the-year celebrations taking place on Friday, May 24 in our auditorium. At 10:00 a.m. sixth and seventh grade scholars will be recognized during our Second Semester Honors Assembly. Purchase a CCPA T-Shirt

Apr 30, 2013 Recently, the Academy's PBIS Team encouraged scholars to design their own CCPA spirit wear. Many of the submissions demonstrated excellent work, but scholars ultimately voted in favor of the t-shirt depicted in the attached flyer. To order the winning shirt, print and complete the attached order form. Completed forms must be submitted to the office by Friday, May 3, 2013. On designated days, scholars will be able to wear their CCPA t-shirts in place of their regular uniforms.

Spring Picture Day

Apr 19, 2013 Scholars will have their pictures taken on Tuesday, April 23 at the Academy. Unlike Fall Pictures, scholars are not required to wear their uniforms on Spring Picture Day. On Tuesday, April 23, scholars may wear attire consistent with the District 186 Dress Code to school for pictures. Information on the District Dress Code can be found on page 9 of the 2012-2013 Information and Discipline Handboook provided to all scholars at the beginning of the school year. READ MORE

Special PTA Meeting

Apr 15, 2013 A Special Meeting of the Academy's Parent / Teacher Association (PTA) has been scheduled for Thursday, April 18 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Academy's auditorium. Following this important meeting, I encourage all families to participate in the PTA's "Dine to Donate for CCPA" dinner at Texas Roadhouse, 2540 W. Iles Avenue. Ten percent of all total food purchases will be donated to the Academy when CCPA is mentioned.

Girls' Night Out at the Academy

Jan 30, 2013 The Capital College Preparatory Academy's Family & Community Engagement Team is planning an exciting opportunity for female scholars during the month of February. On Tuesday, February 19, the Academy will host Girls' Night Out from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium and auditorium. All female scholars are invited to attend along with an adult role model of their choosing. Activities will be exciting, engaging, and educational. Guys' Night Out at the Academy

Sixth Grade Preview Night at the Capital College Preparatory Academy

Jan 27, 2013 District middle schools will host sixth grade preview nights on Tuesday, January 28. However, the Capital College Preparatory Academy will continue a tradition of hosting our Preview Night later in the school year. The later date allows Luer's Uniform Shop to be onsite to sell the Academy's uniform at a discounted price. Once a date and time are finalized, information will be mailed to all families of incoming sixth grade students enrolled to attend the Academy next year. READ MORE

Engineering Saturday Academy - February 16, 2013

Jan 24, 2013 The Engineering Saturday Academy originally scheduled for January 26 has been rescheduled for February 16, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday Academies are specifically designed to complement ongoing studies at the Capital College Preparatory Academy and expose scholars to interdisciplinary themes that are important in today’s global society.
