Fate Echols Award
Fate Echols was a middle school math teacher at Douglas Alternative School. He was a football star at Northwestern University who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals, played with them for two years, and also played with the Ottawa Rough Riders. Fate was a kind, generous, caring person and teacher who worked hard to provide students with skills they needed to be successful in life.
The Fate Echols Award is given to a middle school student who exemplifies the school criteria of attendance, grades and behavior AND who exhibits outstanding citizenship within the Douglas School environment.
