Registration for the 2015-2016 School Year

June 10, 2015

Due to street repairs, registration will be held in Room 116 at Lawrence Education Center, 101 E Laurel on Monday, August 10 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and Tuesday, August 11, from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Please enter on the west side, from First Street. You will have to ring the bell to be let in, If you cannot register on these two dates, please contact the school to set an appointment time.

Students entering sixth or ninth grade, and students new to the District, are required by state law to provide proof of physical examination and immunization upon registration. For the 2015-2016 school year, all 6th grade students must show proof of having received one dose of meningococcal vaccine and 12th grade students must show proof of having received two doses of meningococcal vaccine with the last being on or after the 16th birthday. If the first dose was on or after the 16th birthday, only one dose is needed. All children in grades 6 - 12 must provide proof of immunization against Hepatitis B. Students who are out of compliance on the first day of school will be excluded from school and any absences will be unexcused.

School hours are 9:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. The first day of school is Monday August 24. As last year, school hours on Wednesday will be 10:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. There will be no other early release days during the first week of school. The Labor Day holiday will be Monday, September 7.

As you shop for clothes for the school year, please remember the Douglas middle school dress code: plain black slacks and plain white three or four button polo shirts. The Prep dress code: plain kahki (tan) slacks and plain black three or four button polo shirts. ALL shirts must be tucked in. Students may have no decoration on any clothing, and may have nothing colored over or under their dress code clothing. Pants must fit at the waist and all students must wear a belt. No articles of clothing with hoods or zippers are allowed to be worn in the building.
