Fate Echols Award
Fate Echols was a middle school math teacher at Douglas Alternative School. He was a football star at Northwestern University who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals, played with them for two years, and also played with the Ottawa Rough Riders. Fate was a kind, generous, caring person and teacher who worked hard to provide students with skills they needed to be successful in life.
The Fate Echols Award is given to a middle school student who exemplifies the school criteria of attendance, grades and behavior AND who exhibits outstanding citizenship within the Douglas School environment.

MIDDLE SCHOOL
*Black Kakhi slacks, capris or shorts only: no denim, sweatpants, jogging pants, swishy pants, skinny pants/jeans, leggings, stir ups, or pajama pants.
*3-4 button WHITE collared polo style shirts only and they MUST be tucked in: no writing, emblems, logos, words, or numbers on shirts. Only white undershirts may be worn.
*WHITE crewneck sweatshirts: no hoods or zippers
PREP (HIGH SCHOOL)
*Tan Khaki slacks, capris or shorts only: no denim, sweatpants, jogging pants, swishy pants, skinny pants/jeans, leggings, stir ups, or pajama pants.
*3-4 button BLACK collared polo style shirts only and they MUST be tucked in: no writing, emblems, logos, words, or numbers on shirts. Only short-sleeved white OR short or long-sleeved black undershirts may be worn.
*BLACK crewneck sweatshirts: no hoods or zippers
FOR ALL STUDENTS:
*Belts MUST be worn: no sagging
*No skirts or dresses (exception only for a religious objection)
*No colored undershirts allowed
*Keys, necklaces, sharpie markers, snacks, combs, brushes, and drinks SHOULD NOT be brought to school. They will be confiscated. Students may not bring: backpacks, trapper keepers, metal-edged rulers, hand-held pencil sharpeners, or ANY electronic device.
