Transportation Arrangements
Beginning Monday, April15th we will no longer be accepting phone calls to change a student's transportation home. Students will be directed to their bus or to walk home unless they have signed up for SCOPE, 21st Century, Compass or tutoring. At which time they will be directed to those programs. If a change needs to be made it should be done in writing or in person at the office. Phone calls will not be accepted.
We're Moving Up!
Dubois Elementary School has shown tremendous gains in all subgroups according to the 2012 ISAT data. We averaged 12.22% growth in each subcell with the most growth in low income students at 20.6% growth. Overall 87% of our students met or exceeded standards in math and 75% of students met or exceeded standards in reading. Good job Dubois!
DIBELs Big Picture data
Three times a year, we assess student’s ability to decode and read fluently using
the DIBELs Assessment. In K-1, students do several one-minute reading tasks such as decoding three letter nonsense words. In grades 2-5, students read three passages for one minute and are asked to retell what they have read.
Each time students are assessed, their score is compared to a “benchmark” which is the minimum score we would like each student to achieve at a particular grade level.
Looking at our data, it is exciting to see that teachers have been hard at work helping students grow in their reading knowledge. As a school, we have moved from having 60% of our students at benchmark at the beginning of the year to having 71% of our students currently at benchmark. Now that’s something to celebrate!
