Dec 11, 2018 The faculty of the ELC proudly wore purple and gold in support of the Taylorville community that was recently effected by damaging tornadoes. Our monetary donations were combined with the SPS 186 district donations for the benefit of Taylorville.
Dec 10, 2018 The ELC students welcomed their special grown ups to school on Friday, December 7. For our second Family Fun Friday there was an all school sing-a-long featuring the Tater Tots, Book Fair, and Learning on the Go take home activities.
Nov 30, 2018 Early Start teacher, Janette Smith, was recently awarded a $200 library grant from the Springfield Public Schools Foundation. Mrs. Smith used the money to purchase non-fiction books for her classroom. Thank you to the foundation for its generosity in supporting the ELC. Congratulations Mrs.
Nov 30, 2018 The ELC students had the opportunity to attend a special puppet show, Animals Preparing for Winter, presented by Lincoln Memorial Gardens. Students learned about ways that animals prepare for winter, including the concept of hibernation.
Oct 26, 2018 The staff at the ELC have baked goods available for purchase during parent teacher conferences. The proceeds of the sale will go toward the ELC contributions to the United Way. Thank you to everyone that baked or purchased items!
Oct 22, 2018 On Thursday, October 18 the ELC hosted the first of three Parent University workshops for the school year. Leanne Haage presented information to parents regarding social emotional learning and suport. She also shared valuable resources for parents to use in their homes.
Oct 22, 2018 The students at the ELC were provided a very special opportunity for learning through a partnership with PNC Bank the week of October 15-19. Students were able to view the moon, stars, and planets via the inflatable planetarium with special hosts, the Sesame Street characters.
Oct 9, 2018 The ELC opened it's doors on Friday, October 5 to host the first Family Friday of the school year! ELC students invited a special grown up to come to school and join a typical day in the classroom.
