The Purpose of Title I
Title I develops policies and procedures and provides operational support to program personnel. Feitshans school receives federal Title I money to support staff, family and community engagement and academic improvement activities for the students.
The Title I office works closely with the Superintendent, Board of Education, Parents Advisory, F.A.C.E., Title I schools, and private schools to ensure the very best program for the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
There are mandates required of Title I schools; providing a Home- School Compact and Parent Involvement Policy are two such mandates, which involves the input of our parents and community. Improving the student's reading aptitude is one goal of the F.A.C.E team; our compact reflects the student's current reading score with a targeted reading goal as well. Information on reading scores and how to choose appropriate reading leveled books will be provided at various family events (i.e., parent-teacher conferences).
