Raegan Koebler is currently a 6th Grader at FMS. At the age of 8 she swam 150 laps to raise money to rebuild the orphanage in Haiti that her best friend, Ruthie Hill, lived in. In 1 hr 17 minutes of non-stop swimming she raised over $8,500 for Haiti. At the end of 3 months she raised a grand total of over $85,000! Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Speedo, etc. have all contacted Rae to applaud her efforts. Rae is currently only $2,000 away from raising the money necessary to build the Rae of Sunshine Schoolhouse in Ruuska Village, Haiti. Raegan has also donated money to the Steve Irwin to eliminate the slaughter of whales by the Japanese and has collected and distributed thousands of books to low-income elementary aged children in Springfield. Another one of her projects in "the works" is a project entitled "Caps 4 a Cause" that will raise money for different causes around the world. Rae has conducted several meetings with the Conoco Phillips corporate managers to partner with her on this venture. USA swimming has featured Raegan in "Splash" magazine and she was also the feature story of "American Girl Magazine" with Ruthie.
