ACT (319)337-1270; www.actstudent.org

SAT (866)756-7346; www.sat.collegeboard.org

Important Reminders
Tests are normally taken on a Saturday morning. Students whose religion prohibits testing on Saturday may choose a non-Saturday test date when they register.
NUMATS offers testing throughout the school year for the ACT® and SAT®; however, students must test before March to have their scores considered for most award ceremonies (boldface dates in tables below).
Students should register as early as possible to increase the likelihood that they will be assigned to their first- or second-choice test center. Test centers are assigned by the testing agencies, and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If seats are not available at the test centers you choose, the testing agencies will assign you to the nearest available test center.

If you have any questions about NUMATS, please email Ray Zinnen, FMS Gifted Department Chair, at rzinnen@sps186.org or call him at 525-3164, ext. 234.

IEPA Visits the Gifted Students to Talk About Clean Water Access

On Thursday, January 9th, we had members of the IEPA (Ed Wagner, Kristi Morris, and Lindsay Miller) visit to explain how communities access water. They were able to show the students the differences in water supply operations in urban and rural communities. The importance of water security, pollution and a model of how water flows ecologically within a system were explained as well. The students were very engaged and had a great educational experience. Thank you to the IEPA for volunteering their time for such an important topic to our students.
