How did Franklin’s Gifted Program better prepare you for where you are today? I was lucky to have amazing teachers during my time at Franklin, and I learned different things from each of them. Their teaching styles complimented each other, providing a well-rounded and fun learning experience for the students. Looking back, my time at Franklin is when I really started to figure out what subjects I liked the most. Strengths and interests of mine that I discovered at Franklin stuck with me throughout my education and guided me to the career I have today.
What are some of your favorite memories of Franklin? There are so many to choose from! It's hard to beat the basketball hoop in Mr. Knoepfle's class. I remember competing with the boys for those 3-point shots to get a sticker on the wall. My classmate and good friend Nate Haas was one of the best, and probably still holds some record for shots made in math class. Playing on the basketball team and dancing on the poms squad, creating my own Time magazine, and my eighth grade science fair project testing which lipstick lasts the longest are all at the top of the list as well. It really was such a great two years, I have only good memories when I think about my time at Franklin Middle School!
