Jan 8, 2017 High School Preview Night Date: Tuesday, January 10, 2017 Time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Place: Lanphier, Southeast and Springfield High School This event is open to families with incoming freshmen, including those new to the District or who currently attend private or parochial schools. Families should attend Preview Night at the high school within the boundary based on their current address.
Dec 19, 2016 The December Student of the Month Celebration will be Tuesday, December 20th in the library. If you have received a letter in the mail, please know you are invited to attend the celebration at 8:15 am to 8:30 am if you are able to make it.
Aug 12, 2016 All incoming 6th graders are invited to attend our WEB - Where Everybody Belongs - Orientation on Tuesday, August 16th. Please arrive promptly at 8:00 am and come to the gym. Mom and Dad can drop you off and come back to get you at 12:30. We have lots of fun activities planned! Wear comfortable clothes and come prepared to learn a lot about GMS and make some new friends.

May 13, 2016 There will be a MANDATORY Washington D.C. meeting for students AND parents on Tuesday, May 17th at 6:00 in the GMS cafeteria. This meeting is for 8th graders attending the Washington D.C. trip THIS year (June 2016).
Apr 21, 2016 All of these things are for students attending THIS year. 1. There is a Washington D.C. T-shirt design contest. All entries must be on a standard sized piece of paper and outlined in black pen or marker. The entries are due by May 6th to Mrs. Kyes room 103. Winners will receive their T-shirts for free. 2. 4 Students will be chosen to take place in laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Mar 16, 2016 GMS students and staff will be participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) BRING THE CHANGE program; a coin drive and spirit week to help blood cancer patients and their families. The change drive will take place the week of March 21 - 24. During the BRING THE CHANGE week, students and staff will collect money to support LLS's mission: to find cures and ensure assess to treatments for blood cancer. READ MORE
