“B” Day

Good morning and welcome to Prime Time News!

Regular school hours begin: 8:00AM- 2:30PM!

We will be selling holiday candy grams in the lobby next week. For .50 cents you can send a candy cane with a message to your favorite Grant friends, teachers, or staff members.

After School Tutoring Program: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday! Check schedule to see who is the teacher and what classroom.

Attention 8th Graders!
Don’t forget to sign up for the End of Year 8th grade trip to Chicago. Turn in money and permission slips to Mrs. Schroeder (room 217) or your Math teacher.
If your parent would like to chaperone, please see Mrs. Schroeder for a form. Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis so don’t delay!

LUNCH: The gym is now open during lunch. On “A” days the girls will be allowed to go to the gym and on “B” days the boys.

Teachers: Students can go to their lockers: before school, after 2nd block, before/after lunch, and then after-school. You cannot go get pe clothes before; they need to be with you! A noon detention will be assigned if a student is at their locker w/out a pass.

Due to the potential health hazards of wearing silly bands, Grant has put a ban on the wearing of any of these bands in the school building at any time during the school day. Students are still allowed to wear the“Livestrong” wristbands or others like them.

CHEERLEADING: Wednesday: Cheerleaders be at the school, dressed and ready by 5:00.
Thursday: Cheerleaders stay after school today. Be in Mrs. Silveri's room 210, dressed and ready by 2:40.

8th Grade: The 8th grade girl’s basketball team will play Jacksonville Turner in the sectional game today at 6:00 PM here at Grant! Good Luck girls!

BOYS BASKETBALL: Boys have a home game today against JMS, the time of the game is 3:30 PM.

6th Boys Basketball: The boys have a “BYE” on Saturday, 12/10. All games are played at WMS.

8th grade volleyball try-outs are12/7 from 2:30-4:00 and 12/12 from 6:30-8:30 information is in bookcase.
Last day of 7th grade try-outs is 12/8 from 6:30-8:30 first practice will be 12/10 from 7:30-9:30

SCHOLASTIC BOWL: Scholastic Bowl Practice will be tonight (Wednesday) from 2:30-4:00 in room 219. Questions see Mrs. Thomas.

WEB: Attention all WEB tutors and 6th grade WEB tutoring kids. This Wednesday will be our final tutoring session of the semester. Please check the WEB website for details. 6th graders will be receiving a special reminder note with extra details from either Mr. or Mrs. Hayes soon.

All WEB Leaders need to meet in the mobile this Friday at 7:40. We will talk about our meeting for next Wednesday. Please be there! Questions, see Mr. Hayes!

CHESS CLUB: Will meet every Thursday, in room 107 from 2:30-4:00PM.

YEARBOOK: There will be a yearbook meeting on Tuesday December 6th after school in room 213.

BETA: Beta will meet every Thursday from 2:30-3 in room 101.

PIZZA PARTY!!!!! Your first hour class could win a pizza party from Antonio's if you collect the most canned food items from now until December 9th. There will be boxes located by the door of your classroom 1st hour where the canned food items should be placed. Canned food items will be collected every Friday during announcements and standings will be announced on Monday.

IMSA: The GMS Science club will meet again on Thursday, December 15th, 2011 in Room 228 at 2:30p.m.

IMSA students will be held Monday from 2:30-4:15. We will meet in the cafeteria to enjoy a snack and for attendance. See you today!


SHOW CHOIR: Show choir will be meeting next week on the following days:
Wednesday 2:30 to 4
Friday 2:30 to 4

JAZZ BAND: every Wednesday from 2:30-4:00.

SCHOOL STORE: Attention Students: The School Store is in Room 205 - Mrs. Connolley's Room. Come before school or during your lunch to purchase paper, folders, pencils, pens, notebooks, glue, composition books, colored pencils, erasers, pencil lead and divider tabs. Most items sell between 25 cents and $2.50. The school store has stocked up on composition notebooks. The price is now 50 cents. Also, we have a limited supply of graph paper packs for math. They are $1.75. The store is in room 205 and is open before and after school and during lunch.

Cell phones, are not allowed on in the building at any time. If you are caught, the phone will be confiscated and turned into the office, parents notified and will be responsible to pick up said items.

BELTS: We have belts for sale in the main office. The cost is $2.00; see Ms. Mary before school to purchase a belt. Belt MUST BE a solid color only.
