CAMP CILCA: 6th grade Trip: Camp Cilca Update: Students will be receiving a letter announcing their status for the Camp Cilca trip by Friday the 20th. If you turned in your contract, show good behavior and grades, then YOU will be attending one of the best field trips! Great job to all those students that have stayed focused and made great choices! If you can no longer attend and have paid, refunds can be given by seeing our secretary, Mrs. Nance, in the principal's office.

For those going on the trip, a mandatory parent meeting will take place April 25th from 6-7 pm in the GMS Cafeteria! If your parent cannot make this meeting, they will have make special arrangements to come in before or after school to get the forms from Mrs. Griminger. We will send home a reminder with camp information, but you may want to inform parents of this meeting so they can adjust their schedule to attend. Remember, money is due April 27th.

Again, Camp Cilca is May 16, 17, and 18th.

GUEST TEACHERS: whenever you have a guest teacher, you are to show him/her the same respect as you would your regular teacher. The guest teacher knows the BIST procedures. If you are asked to go to the Safe Seat, you must move to the Safe Seat. If you must be removed from the classroom, you will be escorted to the office and issued three noon detentions and a phone call home.

Cafeteria: Students need to enter the cafeteria first to eat their lunch. You cannot go outside or the gym and then come in and eat lunch. Also, when you want to leave the cafeteria, you will need to raise your hand and wait for an adult to dismiss you from the table. At that time please dispose of your garbage, tray and beverages other than water. You may then go outside or to the gym; the library will be available upon request from Mrs. Childress.

Dress Code Violators & Gum Chewing: This is the verbal warning for the entire student body concerning shirts being un-tucked, sagging, and gum chewing in class and the hallways. If a teacher or staff member notices you are violating the dress code or chewing gum you will be assigned a noon detention with the administrators.

8th Grade Field Trip T-Shirt Design Contest:
You must be an 8th grader to participate. Draw your design in black and white and keep it simple. Deadline: April 27, 2012.
The winner will receive a free field trip, which is a $65.00 value. If you have already paid for the trip, your money will be refunded to you.
See Mr. Buerkett if you have questions.

8th Grade Field Trip:
Attention 8th Graders: As of Friday afternoon only 2 seats remain for the 8th grade field trip to Chicago. Those will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. After that students will be placed on a waiting list. If a student who has signed up chooses (or is unable) to go, then a student from the waiting list will be added. If you are on the waiting list and no seats open up, you will receive a full refund. If you are already signed up and decide you cannot go, you must tell Mrs. Schroeder by April 27 to receive a full refund. After April 27 refunds will be based on whether there is someone from a waiting list to replace you.

Also - final payments for the trip must be made no later than Friday April 27th. If you have not made a final payment you risk losing your seat to someone on the waiting list so don't delay!

If you have any questions please see Mrs. Schroeder in room 217 before or after school or during 8th grade lunch.
