"B" Day

Good morning and welcome to Grant Middle School. Where we are on a " winning streak!

Tuesday, November 11, 2008 is Veterans Day- There will be no school on Tuesday, school resumes on Wednesday, November 12, 2008.

We are selling General Pride bracelets as a fundraiser for WEB. We have three colors, yellow, black and tie-dye on sale for $2.00.

We still have Alex Rahn bracelets. Please see Mrs. Crum or Mrs. Atwood to purchase one for $3.00.

7th & 8th graders- Just a reminder that you have to have your computer bag in order to get your computer from your cart. Please do not leave empty computer bags in the teacher's classroom- they need to be stored in your locker.

Also: Beginning November 17, 2008 those students parents that have attended the computer meeting and have shown proof of insurance to Mrs. Crum or Mrs. Love, can begin taking their computers home. Those students who have not done these two steps cannot take the computer home at night- no excuses. Consequences for taking the computer home will be: losing computer privileges for the rest of the school year.

IMSA: After school meeting are on Monday nights, from 2:45-4:15. 7th grade report to room 221 and 8th grade report to room 225. Meet Mrs. Borah and Mrs. Kyes in the cafeteria at 2:45 sharp.

Grant Middle Schools' tutoring is Monday through Thursday from 2:45 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Activity buses are provided at 4:15 p.m. (Read who is where/and what today). There will be various teachers in different classrooms to assist with homework, projects, research, and to assist students in improving their efforts in various academic areas.

The gym will be open all three lunch shifts today.

SPORTS:
GBB 7/8: Practice tonight is 2:30-4. The girls have an away game on Wednesday, 11/12 at Ball Charter at 4:00 and the last home game for the season is Thursday, November 13, at 4:00. This will be the last home game for 8th grade girl's team and we will honor them and their parents before the start of the 8th grade game. BBB 7/8- Congrats to our 7th grade boys team for winning the Pana Tourney on Friday night. The 7th boys have practice today 4-6, the 8th grade boys have practice 6-8. The 7.8 boys teams have a game on Thursday 11/13 at Christ the King, game time is 4:00pm. Tomorrow there is no school but all teams will have practice: 7BB-7am-9am, 8BB 9-11, 7/8 Girls BB practice is from 11:30 - 1:30 the 6GBB girls have a BYE on Saturday. The 6BBB also have a BYE this Saturday.
CHEERLEADING: practice tomorrow from 1:30-3:00.

VOLLEYBALL: 7/8 GVB: will be having open gym for 7th and 8th grade girls volleyball on Tuesday 11/11/08 from 3:15 - 5:00. Girls there is no school on the 11th, so have your rides at GMS at 5:00 prompt!

SPORTS PHYSICALS: For any girl trying out for 6/7/8 girls volleyball can get a sports physical on November 20 @ 2:30. Need to bring $10.00 (cash or checks made payable to GMS) and your Athletic Permit Card.

We will have an activity bus running every night at 4:15pm.

CHEERLEADING. Practice- Friday 11/7 - 2:30-4:30

ART CLUB: will meet on (Questions see Ms. Delong).

SHOW CHOIR: every Tuesday from 2:30-4:00 (questions see Ms. Bentsen).
JAZZ BAND: every Thursday from 2:30-4:00 (questions see MS. Bentsen).

We will have an activity bus running every night at 4:15pm.

Rubber bands are not allowed at school at any time!

Cell phones, CD, I pods and toys are not allowed on in the building at any time. If you are caught they will be taken, turned into the office, parents notified and will be responsible to pick up said items.

The gym will be open all three lunch shifts today.

Students cannot leave campus after-school and return it is too dangerous and not allowed. Anyone caught doing this will receive a PM detention for 1-½ hours cleaning windows, lockers ......

Please make sure you buy only what you can eat during lunch. Food/drink are not to be placed in lockers, this attracts rodents in the lockers. Snack passes MUST be shown to an administrator or adult before leaving the cafeteria with food that is not opened.

BELTS: We have belts for sale in the main office. The cost is $2.00; see Ms. Mary before school to purchase a belt. Belt MUST BE a solid color only!

Shirts need to be tucked in at all times! This includes lunch. When you leave the building at the end of the day, you may untuck as you wish. NO SAGGING!
