"A" Day

Welcome to Grant Middle School, where we READ, REFLECT, and RESPOND to text.

SPORTS: Track practice tonight at 2:30-4:00 p.m. Sectional track meet is this Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Good luck to all participants and all teams!

Cheerleading - Clinic Days: May 12 & 13 - 5:30-7:30 PM
Try-Outs: May 14 - 5:30 -7:30 PM.

Informational packet. The packet needs to be returned before

Sight and Sound Celebration at the Hoogland Center this Monday 5/12, beginning at 6:30pm.

7th graders - Today is the deadline for your WEB application. Make sure you turn it in to the office or to Mrs. Connolley before you leave school today.

Keep working on perfect attendance for the 4th quarter. We will have a free tailgate party for all students with perfect attendance during the 4th quarter.

We will be having a " Field Day" to reward those students who have perfect attendance from May 12- May 30. The Field Day will be on Monday, June 2nd. You will have the opportunity to go outside or in the gym on your 4th block and play volleyball, basketball, football, soccer, kickball, or softball. You will also get a popsicle to beat the heat.

Mrs. Ziemba's classes need to bring their computers to class the rest of the year.

BOOK FAIR IS COMING - Stock up for Summer Reading
The annual Scholastic Book Fair will arrive next week with hundreds of books, posters, electronics and other "fun stuff" available for purchase. It will open in the library on May 13 and run until May 20 during school hours. It will also be open prior to the Honors Night celebration May 20 from 5 to 6 PM. plan to visit this year's fair and stock up for the summer

Yearbook Information: If your name isn't on the list, you need to bring $20.00 to room 220 before or after school to get your name on the list. Yearbooks will sell out quickly, so get your ordered today.

8th Grade Picture- if you would like to purchase an 8th grade group picture the cost is $10.00 and DUE this Friday, 5/9. - TODAY!!!!

Spring Pictures _ if you would like to purchase a packet- the money is DUE Wednesday, May 14 to Mrs. Ridings. You do not need to return the proof.

Play hitting. Even though we are playing, we are not allowed to touch other individuals at any time. This has been going on in the hallways and outside during recess. Nothing positive can occur under these circumstances, so please abide by the hallway guidelines of keeping your hands and feet to yourself!

Teachers: please leave specific instructions for students to leave laptops in their cases if you have a guest teacher in the future.

Girls: You CANNOT take your purse to class at any time during the school for any reason.

IPODS, CD players and phones are to be turned off and put away once you are on the blacktop every morning.

Students do not use the playground doors during lunch.

WRIST-SWEATBANDS is NOT ALLOWED at anytime- this is a violation of the district dress code policy.

NO food or drinks can leave the cafeteria. This is includes food that has not been opened, if caught is will taken away and thrown away.

The gym will be open "A" lunch shift only today. The library will be open/closed all three lunch shifts today.

Shirts need to be tucked in at 7:45 am and stay tucked in through out the morning and after lunch. Anyone with an un-tucked shirt will receive a 15-minute noon detention.

At this time: teachers please check for dress code violations. Any student with a violation needs to go to office with a minor referral. NO HOODIES can be worn during the school day.
