"A" Day

Welcome to Grant Middle School, where we READ, REFLECT, and RESPOND to text.

Play hitting. Even though we are playing, we are not allowed to touch other individuals at any time. This has been going on in the hallways and outside during recess. Nothing positive can occur under these circumstances, so please abide by the hallway guidelines of keeping your hands and feet to yourself!

SPORTS: Track -practice tonight @ 2:30-4:00 pm.

Friday is the Student of the Month luncheon- students will meet in the library on their lunch shift. Announce the names.

BETA Club: There is a full meeting April 30th at 7:15 am.
All hours are due by April 30th. Please turn your hours into the folder or to Emma Range. You need to have all your hours turned in by the 30th if you want to go on the Six Flags trip. We will be taking a charter bus on the Six Flags trip, the cost is $ 35.00.
Beta Initiation is May 6th at GMS - 6:00 P.M.

BOWL-A-THON- April 26 @ Strike & Spare Lanes: The cost is $13.00, this includes your shoe rental an unlimited bowling. Pay, Mrs. Atwood by April 25th.

Yearbook Information: With the school year quickly coming to a close, you may be wondering, " Have I ordered my yearbook?" Mrs. Ridings has posted outside her room- 220 a list of those who have ordered a yearbook. If your name isn't on the list, you need to bring $20.00 to room 220 before or after school to get your name on the list. Yearbooks will sell out quickly, so get your ordered today.

Attention 8th Graders:
We will begin the waiting list for the 3rd bus. If the 3rd bus does not fill up, those on the waiting list will be given a refund and will not be able to attend the trip.

**All money and permission slips are due on Thursday, May 1st (that is NEXT Thursday!) Absolutely, NO MONEY WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. Please continue to bring permission slips and money before or after school to Miss Rachford in Room 213.

Mother/Daughter Group: With Mother's Day approaching, it is time to get ready for the next Mother/Daughter book group. I would like to meet with the "daughters only" on April 28 during your own lunch shift so that we can plan a special event on May 9 for Mother's Day. If you were a member of the original group and wish to continue, please let Mrs. Childress know. On the other hand, if you have not been involved but would like to attend this time, let her know as well. She needs to begin organizing ASAP.

Teachers: please leave specific instructions for students to leave laptops in their cases if you have a guest teacher in the future.

Girls: You CANNOT take your purse to class at any time during the school for any reason.

IPODS, CD players and phones are to be turned off and put away once you are on the blacktop every morning.

Students do not use the playground doors during lunch.

WRIST-SWEATBANDS is NOT ALLOWED at anytime- this is a violation of the district dress code policy.

Keep working on perfect attendance for the 4th quarter. We will have a free tailgate party for all students with perfect attendance during the 4th quarter.

NO food or drinks can leave the cafeteria. This is includes food that has not been opened, if caught is will taken away and thrown away.

The gym will be open "C" lunch shift only today. The library will be open/closed all three lunch shifts today.

Shirts need to be tucked in at 7:45 am and stay tucked in through out the morning and after lunch. Anyone with an un-tucked shirt will receive a 15-minute noon detention.

At this time: teachers please check for dress code violations. Any student with a violation needs to go to office with a minor referral. NO HOODIES can be worn during the school day.
