"B" Day.

Welcome to Grant Middle School, where reading comprehension is our daily focus.

Our 7/8 Girls BB teams open their season yesterday with a contest against WMS The 7th grade team played with a lot of effort and determination for their first game. The 8th grade girls had a great team effort and came home with a victory. CC team you have practice tonight 2:30-4. The CC team travels to Franklin, Il on Saturday for the annual Franklin Inv. All 6th Grade Girls who came to try-outs made the team. Congrats. When the announcements are over would each of you come to the main lobby to see me for a few minutes. 6th grade GBB you have practice on Saturday morning from 10-12. The 7/8 GBB you have practice on Saturday from 8-10 am.

Rubber bands are not allowed at school at any time!

Remember in the cafeteria you must raise your hand to be excused from your table. Each table in the cafeteria will have no more then 10 students per table.

The gym will be open "A" lunch shift only today. The library will be open all three lunch shifts today as well. The office and cafeteria cannot make change for big bills, please do not ask for change. The " five minute rule" means wherever you are the last five minutes of your lunch period is where you must stay for the remainder of the lunch shift.

No students are to be in the upstairs hallway until the bell rings. You can go to your locker at that time. Remember we go to our lockers- before school, before lunch, after lunch and after school. You can also go to your locker after 2nd block.

Bike Rack- keep bikes locked at all times please!

Student Planners - $5.00 and can be purchased in the main office.

Fundraiser News.

Be prepared for a Code Yellow drill this morning during block 1. We will announce our intentions so the drill.

Cell phone contest. Turn in an old cell phone to the main office in the morning before school and your name will go into a drawing to win this bag of goodies.

We have had several guest teachers in the building this week so our teachers could attend workshops and trainings. It is expected that every student at Grant Middle School treat the guest teacher with the same respect as you would your teacher. The consequences for misbehaving for a guest teacher are 3 noon detentions and a call home.

At this time would all teachers please check your class for dress code violation? Any student with a violation, needs to be sent to the office. Teachers please write a minor referral and send to the appropriate dean at this time. No hoodies in worn during the school day.
