This past weekend was the Washington invite that had 11 teams competing. 8th grade boys finished 2nd and the 8th grade girls finished 4th overall. The following student athletes were medal winners:

Any 7th grade student that is interested in becoming a WEB Leader for next year should report to Mrs. Hayes’ room 212 after announcements. She is hosting an informational meeting during advisory today about how to apply to be a WEB Leader. Bring your things with you.

Attention students and staff =— A great way to show kindness and empathy is by giving and donating, This year in conjunction with our kindness counts campaign “Bring in your change or dollars for kids with cancer. This will last until May 3rd. Give all money to your advisory teachers to put in your class box. The winning advisory gets an Olive Garden lunch. Last year we raised $1389, let's beat that! ”
“Attention all 8th graders interested in playing football at Lanphier. If you are planning to play football at Lanphier High School next season, please pick up a flyer with important information concerning strength training .” Flyers are in the bookshelf in the lobby
"Are you attending Springfield High next year? Are you interested in being a part of the Scarlet Line Dance Team and supporting your school? Then, this is for you! Tryouts for the 2019-2020 season are coming up! Our parent/student meeting will be on Monday May 6th, 5:30-6:30. Tryout clinics will be Tuesday and Wednesday May 7th & 8th from 5:30-7:30. Tryouts will be held on Thursday night beginning at 4:30!"
Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 — Please be On Time and Ready to learn every day….
Tardy total challenge this week - remember the class with the lowest on Friday receives an extra 5 minutes of lunch on Monday or first day of week

The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:
Brushes , picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.
Grant is a uniform school —advisory teachers please check students for uniform violations at this time — Hoodies must be school issued, sport , club or activity or a state series competition from IESA
Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.
— Students blankets - Purses and fanny packs are NOT allowed to be worn or taken to class at Grant middle school
Students to take a coat/ jacket / sweatshirt to lunch — students you may stay in the cafeteria if the weather is poor— once you go outside you stay outside— if you go to the library, no food or drink is allowed
Students this is “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and from school.
The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting "
Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas
