Good morning Grant Middle School, today is Monday, May 13th  2019. Today is a  “A“ day—

 

Today is 90’s day — Advisory teachers please - use the buckets from Miss Phillips — this $ is all going to Kids w/ Cancer — you can send buckets to Mr. Schurman to be counted. 

 

The Kindness challenge continues this week— teachers Ms. Bentsen has a link on her web page for updates— Remember respect is earned  — give respect and get it — Be kind & treat others the way you want to be treated— JUST BE NICE we have 26 days left — You know what is expected, the rules , just do what is right even when you don’t feel like it — Together we can make these last few weeks so much better by making good choices!!

 

Students, every teacher has an assortment of notes that students can write to each other to show kindness. You may turn your notes into your teachers or put them in the large envelope on the bulletin board heading down to the cafeteria. PLEASE make sure you put the recipients full name!!! These will be delivered to advisories. 

 

No Board game club  after school today You will meet tomorrow /Tuesday after school

 

Pride of the Generals will meet Thursday 

 

7th grade students that received WEB acceptance letters are expected to attend Spring Play Day Tuesday May 14th (thats tomorrow) from 2:30-5:00.  Please make arrangements to have your ride pick you up at 5:00 Tuesday.  There will be NO activity buses. This is a required event as stated on your application. If you are unable to attend for any reason please see Mrs. Hayes before hand.  

 

Attention students  - All library books need returned or paid for now. See Mrs. Hall to pay for your lost books.

 

Students going on the DC/NY trip this year, there is a mandatory parent meeting on May 23rd at 6pm in the cafeteria. A parent must attend and it would be great if the student attends also. You will be receiving last minute details and important information for our trip this year. Please see Miss Gibbs if you have any questions.

 

Fri-relay teams only. all kids should be able to ride the bus.


 Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 — Please be On Time and Ready to learn every day…. 

Tardy total challenge this week - remember the class with the lowest on Friday receives an extra 5 minutes of lunch on Monday or first day of week

 

8th -   6th - 7th -  —  8th grade won again

 

The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:

 

Throwing items in class is a serious safety violation and will be met with consequences ranging up to possible suspension from school . Do no throw items, it is dangerous. Do the right thing - you know better and we expect better from you!

 

Brushes , picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.

 

 Grant is a uniform school —advisory teachers please check students for uniform violations at this time — Hoodies must be school issued, sport , club or activity or a state series competition from IESA 

 

Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.

 

 - Purses and fanny packs are NOT  allowed to be worn or taken to class at Grant middle school 

 

  Students to take a coat/ jacket / sweatshirt to lunch — students you may stay in the cafeteria if the weather is poor— once you go outside you stay outside— if you go to the library, no food or drink is allowed 

 

 Students this is  “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and from school. 

 

 The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting "


 Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas

 Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!
