Good morning Grant Middle School, today is Thursday, May 16th  2019. Today is a  “B“ day—

 

  — Advisory teachers please - use the buckets from Miss Phillips — this $ is all going to Kids w/ Cancer — you can send buckets to Mr. Schurman to be counted — So far spirt week has raised almost $300.00 way to go !!!!!

 

The Kindness challenge continues this week— teachers Ms. Bentsen has a link on her web page for updates— Remember respect is earned  — give respect and get it — Be kind & treat others the way you want to be treated— JUST BE NICE we have 11 days left — You know what is expected, the rules , just do what is right even when you don’t feel like it — Together we can make these last few weeks so much better by making good choices!!

 

Students, every teacher has an assortment of notes that students can write to each other to show kindness. You may turn your notes into your teachers or put them in the large envelope on the bulletin board heading down to the cafeteria. PLEASE make sure you put the recipients full name!!! These will be delivered to advisories. 

 

Lanphier parent info for football is available in the bookshelf outside my office — coaches will be here next Monday during 8th grade lunch 

 

Pride of the Generals will meet today — make sure you have signed pride fest volunteer forms to return !!!

 

Attention students  - All library books need returned or paid for now. See Mrs. Hall to pay for your lost books.

 

Students going on the DC/NY trip this year, there is a mandatory parent meeting on May 23rd at 6pm in the cafeteria. A parent must attend and it would be great if the student attends also. You will be receiving last minute details and important information for our trip this year. Please see Miss Gibbs if you have any questions.

 

Tomorrow we will gather in the halls to send off the State qualifiers in track — Congratulations to all of our finalists .

 

 Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 — Please be On Time and Ready to learn every day…. 

Tardy total challenge this week - remember the class with the lowest on Friday receives an extra 5 minutes of lunch on Monday or first day of week

 

8th -20  7th-25 - 8th -26  —  

 

The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:

 

Throwing items in class is a serious safety violation and will be met with consequences ranging up to possible suspension from school . Do no throw items, it is dangerous. Do the right thing - you know better and we expect better from you!

 

Brushes , picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.

 

 Grant is a uniform school —advisory teachers please check students for uniform violations at this time — Hoodies must be school issued, sport , club or activity or a state series competition from IESA 

 

Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.

 

 - Purses and fanny packs are NOT  allowed to be worn or taken to class at Grant middle school 

 

  Students to take a coat/ jacket / sweatshirt to lunch — students you may stay in the cafeteria if the weather is poor— once you go outside you stay outside— if you go to the library, no food or drink is allowed 

 

 Students this is  “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and from school. 

 

 The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting "


 Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas

 Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!
