Good morning Grant Middle School, today is Tuesday, September 3rd  2019

 

 Drop Everything & Read — Make sure you have a book to read with you every period — we will be reading Today and Thursday — Read something YOU like!!!!  Mrs. Cuzzort is reading  Class Mom by Laurie Gelman  :) 

 

Learning lab will start next week on Tonight & Thursday after school — make sure you have a signed Learning Lab pass & work to do. All students must be signed in by 2:40 — Know what activity bus you need to ride  — we only have 3 buses to choose from - bus stop sheets can be found in bookshelf in main lobby .

 

 6th grade girls basketball tryouts —Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. 3:45-5:30. 

 

GMS baseball dropped both games of a  double-header this weekend against a tough Franklin and Quincy St Peter's middle schools.
Carter Hood was 2-4
Caden Van de Velde 1-3
Braydon Meyer 1-3
Miles Leininger's defense helped keep us close in game#2 vs Quincy. While Tayton Meyer contributed 2 scoreless innings.

 

 Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 —  Here at Grant we are" On Time and Ready to Learn Every Day! "…. because it matters and so do YOU!

 

Tardy count 8th grade 11 — 7th grade 10  & 6th grade 11  tardies — Being on time and ready to learn is a daily expectation at Grant 

 

 8th graders had 90%  attendance Friday, followed by 7th grade at 93% & 6th grade with  92% — whole building was at 92% - we need you here, it makes a difference 

Teacher attendance was 94% Friday

 

The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:

 

Brushes , picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.

 

Grant is a uniform school —advisory teachers please check students for uniform violations at this time  and remind them of the policy— Hoodies must be school issued, sport , club or activity or a state series competition from IESA 

 

Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.

 

Cafeteria - raise your hand, push in chair, pick up trash , throw away trash and stack your trays today and every day!

 

 - Purses and fanny packs are NOT  allowed to be worn or taken to class at Grant middle school 

 

 Students this is  “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and from school. 

 

 The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting "


 Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas locate at Chatham Road / Stange & Amos /// If crossing at Stange w/ the crossing guard you must wait behind him and wait for him to give okay

 Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!
