Good morning Grant Middle School, today is Friday, October 11th 2019


 

The Halloween is the last Friday after Halloween on Nov. 1st — To be eligible students must have all passing grades through 10/29 and 1st qtr. 4 or fewer referrals in October with no assigned In-House: No Unexcused absences for October.

 

October is Breast Cancer awareness month. To help support fighters and survivors, the Beta kids are making chemo care bags for current patients and are raising money to donate to Breast Cancer Research. The Beta club is also selling Breast Cancer Awareness shirts. Buy one in the lobby at lunch for $10. If you buy a new breast cancer awareness shirt, you can wear jeans every Friday during the month of October to help support Breast Cancer survivors and fighters.


 

Congrats to 8th graders Tayton Meyer and Aiden Heindrich who have been selected to play in the IESA Baseball All State Showcase this weekend at Lenz field — what a great way to cap off a fine middle school career 

Congratulations to both of you!

Drop Everything & Read — I forgot Thursday and I apologize we will try again today 5th period Read something YOU like!!!! 

 

(Learning lab is Tue. & Thu. next week after school— make sure you have a signed Learning Lab pass & work to do. All students must be signed in by 2:40 — Know what activity bus you need to ride — we only have 3 buses to choose from - bus stop sheets can be found in bookshelf in main lobby .

 

Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 — Here at Grant we are" On Time and Ready to Learn Every Day! "…. because it matters and so do YOU!

 

Tardy count 8th grade 5 — 7th grade 2 & 6th grade tardies 9— Being on time & ready to learn is a daily expectation at Grant 

 

 8th graders had 88% attendance Thursday followed by 7th grade at 95% !!!!!! & 6th grade with 96% — whole building was at 93% - we need you here, it makes a difference .

 

Teacher attendance was 90% Thursday

 

The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:

Brushes , picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.


 

Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.

 

 Students Cell phones are not allowed to be on you during the school day , they MUST be turned off and left in locker or better yet at home. Cell phones that are taken are subject consequences and parent pick up in order to return  

 

 Students this is  “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and home from school. 

 

 The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting “

 

 Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas locate at Chatham Road / Stange & Amos
