Jan 5, 2018 We apologize. Due to the snow/cold day yesterday, January 4th, 2nd quarter report cards will not be sent home today. Be sure to watch for the report cards to be sent home on Monday, January 8th.

Guidelines for Preventing the Spread of Illness

Covering coughs and frequent hand washing will help prevent the spread of germs, but there are also times when staying home is best. USA National Miss Illinois 2017 visits JMS to greet students!

Dec 11, 2017 On December 7th Destiny Pinnick visited JMS classrooms to greet students.  After winter break she will return to present “The Crown C.A.R.E.S.” (Creating A Respectful Environment in Schools), which is a program that was developed with the Unite Against Bullying ME project. She has partner with them to raise awareness about different forms of bullying and teaching students how to prevent it. JMS welcomes her and looks forward to her presentation.

Coats for Kids

Dec 11, 2017 Community sharing the warmth with JMS students! Green Hyundai, East Side Pride and and News Channel 20 donated coats to JMS students as part of the yearly coat drive for Springfield youth! This is their 11th year of giving back!  JMS students that are in need of a coat and accessories to keep warm will be provided with just that. JMS is thankful for the donation and the establishments that provide.

Springfield Urban League's Annual Awards Dinner

Dec 3, 2017 The Springfield Urban League held their 91st Annual Awards Dinner, Friday, Dec. 1st at the Crowne Plaza. At the dinner District #186 middle and high school minority students were recognized and presented with awards for their academic accomplishments. JMS is proud of and congratulates Azaeleia Cox (6th), Kevin Harris (7th), and Camryn Houston (8th).
