CAFETERIA
Main Entree: BBQ Chicken, Spicy Chicken or Regular Chicken Patties; French Fries; Carrots

Tuesday's Breakfast ~ Yogurt or Cereal

Please take all lunch money for your lunch account to the cafeteria at breakfast time.

Make sure you are picking up after yourself both in the cafeteria and on the playground. Use the trash cans provided. Don't litter!

You must choose an outdoor activity as you leave the cafeteria. Once you are outside at that activity, you MUST stay at that activity for the entire time!

SPORTS
6th Grade Boys' Basketball ~ Congratulations to the 2010 6th grade boys' basketball team: Aundrae W., Mark W., Kamren P., Cole R., Treyvon W., Tavonte D., William B., Jace F., Gavin W., Chris B., Dontaevez S., and Shaun E.!

7th & 8th Grade Girls' Basketball ~ Congratulations to the 8th grade girls on their win over WMS yesterday!

7th & 8th Grade Boys' Basketball ~ Your basketball tryouts have been postponed. Please listen for the rescheduled dates.

Hip Hop Dance Team ~ All hip hop dancers need to see Ms. Austin in the hall after school to receive information. There will be practice tonight from 6:30-8PM.

Game Admission Fees ~ Prices for admission to all JMS games, including Saturday games, have been changed. The new fees are:
Students K-8 ~ $2.00
Adults & High School Students ~ $3.00
Seniors (62 years old & older) ~ $2.00

ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE
If our attendance percentage reaches 94.5% by the end of the day Thursday, October 14th, you will be able to wear pink shirts on Friday to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Current attendance rates are:
6th grade ~ 91%
7th grade ~ 96%
8th grade ~ 94%
Overall ~ 93.99%

BUDDY ROOM CONSEQUENCES
If you are sent out of the classroom to a buddy room on a day that we have a home game, you are NOT allowed to attend the game. This includes athletes.

If you have issues at a home game, you can be banned from any JMS extra-curricular activity including dances, skating, bowling, and end of the year field trips!

If you are sent to a buddy room by a guest teacher, you will receive 2 after-school detentions!

MRS. BORDERS WILL KISS A PIG!
In order to attend the "Kiss A Pig" & Dance Party USA on October 28th, you must have 91% total attendance for the school year, no referrals for the month of October, no suspensions for the month of October, and 2 or fewer Buddy Room visits during the month of October.

MATH CLUB
The first boys meeting will be Tuesday, October 12th.

If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Goss-Rodgers in room 107.

MATH NIGHT
Wednesday, October 20th from 5:30-7:30PM is Math Night! We will be playing fun math games & eating dinner. There will be lots of prizes for both students and parents. If you have not received your invitation, ask your math teacher! Please RSVP ASAP! Mark your calendars for FUN, FUN, FUN!

DRESS CODE
Remember ~ if you are wearing a long-sleeved shirt under your uniform polo shirt, the long-sleeved shirt must be the same color as your uniform polo shirt.

Also, if you wear a short-sleeved t-shirt under your uniform polo shirt and it is a different color than your uniform polo shirt, that t-shirt should not be showing at the bottom of your uniform polo nor should it be showing at the bottom of the sleeves of your uniform polo. Make sure you tuck in the t-shirt.

• No gum is allowed at JMS.
• No stretchy bracelets, rubber bands, or hair elastics should be worn on your wrists.
• We do NOT use the words SHUT UP at JMS!

PASSES AT LUNCH
Please remember ~ You must have a pass from a teacher in order to go to a classroom at lunch to make up work or receive additional help. Students without passes will not be allowed to go to classrooms!

BOOKS!
On the cart in the lobby of the library, there are some old books, magazines and encyclopedias that students and staff can take and keep. The cart will be available all week before and after school. Come and take books, magazines, and /or encyclopedias! Remember ~ they are old and will only be available this week!

SCHOOL STORE
The School Store is open for business! You may come to Mrs. Huffman's room, room 113, before school to purchase pens, pencils, erasers, paper, and other school supplies.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Bring in 10 Box Tops for Education to the school store — room 113 — and you will receive a FREE mechanical pencil!

PHYSICALS
All 6th grade students must have a physical. Please check your book bag and locker & turn in the physical form as soon as possible.
