We have 293 students who will be recognized for making Honor Roll this quarter. The honor roll breakfast will be held Wednesday as follows:
8th Grade: 8:15 am until 8:30 am
7th Grade: 8:40 am until 8:55 am
6th Grade: 9:05 am until 9:20 am

BOOK SWAP
The next JMS book swap will be held during all lunch shifts tomorrow. Don't forget to bring in your previously read books to trade for new ones.

ILLINOIS KIDS VOTE
JMS students are participating in the Illinois Kids Vote Program. Look around the school to see the posters made by 7th grade students. You can make a decision about who to vote for by looking at the candidates' issues. Remember ~ your vote counts on November 2nd!

RED RIBBON WEEK
Today is the 2nd day of Red Ribbon Week! Our theme today is "Drugs Are Pointless." Students will receive a pencil with a drug-free message on it.

Mr. O'Brien from the Triangle Center will be here again in the main lobby during lunch shifts.

The drug-free essay contest submissions are due Thursday. Remember ~ it should be a one-page essay on the topic Why You Should Be Drug-Free Like Me.

Wednesday is Paint Illinois Red Day. To show support for being drug-free, you may paint your thumbnail red!

Thursday is Wear Red Day. Students & staff are encouraged to wear solid colored red shirts along with their uniform pants.

SPEECH CLUB
Anyone interested in debating and would like to join the Speech Club should see Ms. Austin or Mrs. Chavours.

MRS. BORDERS WILL KISS A PIG!
We are closing in on our goal to have Mrs. Borders kiss a pig! If everyone brings 50, we will meet that magic amount of $300.

In order to attend the "Kiss A Pig" & Dance Party USA on Thursday, you must have 91% total attendance for the school year, no referrals for the month of October, no suspensions for the month of October, and 2 or fewer Buddy Room visits during the month of October.

DJ JD Dent will be providing the music for our dance party.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday evening from 5-8PM and on Friday from 8AM-2:30PM. Please encourage your parents to come speak with your teachers.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Bring in 10 Box Tops for Education to the school store — room 113 — and you will receive a FREE mechanical pencil!

SWEATSHIRTS, SHORTS, CAPRIS ........
You may not wear the JMS Spirit sweatshirts in class on regular uniform days of school. You may only wear them outside during lunch and also on Spirit Days.

Thursday, October 28th, will be the last day for wearing shorts, capris, and crop pants.
