Students need to bring their accounts up to date — especially 8th graders!

Track ~ The City Track Meet is today! It is at Memorial Stadium next to Lanphier High School at 3:30PM. Track athletes should be dismissed at 2:20PM today in order to get to the bus which will leave at 2:30PM.

LHS Cheerleading ~ Do you want to be a Lanphier cheerleader? There are mandatory clinic days on the following dates:
May 4 from 5:30-7:30PM
May 5 from 5:30-7:30PM
Tryouts will be held on May 6 at 5PM in the Lober/Nika gym at LHS. You must be dressed and ready to go at 4:45PM.

JFL 2011 Registration ~ Junior Football League of Springfield will hold registration for Kindergarten through 8th grade students from 11AM-4PM at the following locations:

May 7 & 28 - Godfather's, 1549 S. Dirksen Parkway; Incredible Pizza Company, 2744 S. 6th St.; & White Oaks Mall

Lincoln Land Community College is awarding one JMS 8th grade student a tuition waiver for six credit hours. Any JMS 8th grade student who is interested in applying for the scholarship, must have a parent or guardian come to the guidance office to obtain an application. All applications must be returned to the guidance office by May 2, 2011.

Today is our next book swap! Please remember to bring a book to swap during your lunch shift.

WEB applications can be found on the glass case in the main lobby. Only 7th grade students may apply. Applications must be turned in to Ms. Swaggerty by 2:30PM Tuesday, May 3rd. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!

The 8th grade dance will be held Friday, May 6th. We will serve 8th graders dinner from 5:30-6PM and then the dance will be from 6-8PM. This dance is ONLY for JMS 8th grade students.

JMS is collecting yellow 5 Pepsi caps through the end of this week. Purchase any Pepsi product with a YELLOW 5 cap. Save the cap & bring it to JMS. There is a collection bucket in the main office. You may also give the caps to Mrs. J-C Nosa in room 115. Jefferson will receive 5 for each yellow cap turned in.

Make a movie and win some cash! The Student Film Club from Springfield Public Schools is sponsoring their 3rd annual student video contest open to all middle school and high school students. Videos may be created in any genre & style bus MUST contain all of the following elements in some fashion:

Window, Smile, Cheese

The deadline to enter is May 2nd at 4:30PM.

If you have moved recently or changed phone numbers, please make sure that you give the new and correct information to Mrs. Frye.

We will be having a staff vs students volleyball game today at 1:30PM. In order to attend, you must:
1) have 91% or better attendance
2) have NO suspensions for all of 4th quarter
3) be passing ALL classes

8th grade volleyball players who are playing in the game must meet this criteria also.
