• LHS Cheerleading ~ Do you want to be a Lanphier cheerleader? There are mandatory clinic days on the following dates:
May 4 from 5:30-7:30PM
May 5 from 5:30-7:30PM
Tryouts will be held on May 6 at 5PM in the Lober/Nika gym at LHS. You must be dressed and ready to go at 4:45PM.

LLCC TUITION WAIVER
Lincoln Land Community College is awarding one JMS 8th grade student a tuition waiver for six credit hours. Any JMS 8th grade student who is interested in applying for the scholarship, must have a parent or guardian come to the guidance office to obtain an application. All applications must be returned to the guidance office by the end of the day TODAY!
WEB applications can be found on the glass case in the main lobby. Only 7th grade students may apply. Applications must be turned in to Ms. Swaggerty by 2:30PM tomorrow. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!

8TH GRADE DANCE
The 8th grade dance will be held Friday, May 6th. We will serve 8th graders dinner from 5:30-6PM and then the dance will be from 6-8PM. This dance is ONLY for JMS 8th grade students.
The deadline for yellow PEPSI caps has been extended. Please continue to bring in the caps!
STUDENT VIDEO CONTEST
Make a movie and win some cash! The Student Film Club from Springfield Public Schools is sponsoring their 3rd annual student video contest open to all middle school and high school students. Videos may be created in any genre & style bus MUST contain all of the following elements in some fashion:
Window, Smile, Cheese
The deadline to enter is today at 4:30PM.
Books need to be returned today! For those students who do not return their books, detentions will be issued. Detentions will continue until you return your books.
TALENT SHOW PRACTICE
There will be practice Wednesday after school from 2:30-4PM. Come to Mrs. Orama's room immediately after school. You must bring all of your props and music for your act. You must attend practice if you still want to be in the Talent Show. If you have any questions, talk to Mrs. Orama.
Yearbook Club will meet after school Thursday from 2:30-4PM.
PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
Please join our Pennies for Patients campaign and help children with the blood-born cancers of leukemia and lymphoma. Bring your contributions to your first hour [B day] teacher. All types of change are welcome — not just pennies!
If you have moved recently or changed phone numbers, please make sure that you give the new and correct information to Mrs. Frye.
Camp Nkiru will take place at Springfield High School on June 20-July 29 from 9AM-4PM. The purpose of Camp Nkiru is to provide community youth with new ideas and opportunities that will empower them to make positive and life affirming choices that will improve their lives, their families' lives, and their community.
