• Track ~ NO practice today. There will be a mandatory track practice tomorrow — Thursday — for all student track athletes competing in Sectionals on Saturday.
• Volleyball ~ Any 6th or 7th grader interested in the UIS volleyball camp from June 27-29 should please see Coach Nicholas in room 215 for a registration sheet. You will receive a t-shirt for participating.
• JFL 2011 Registration ~ Junior Football League of Springfield will hold registration for Kindergarten through 8th grade students from 11AM-4PM on May 28th at Godfather's, 1549 S. Dirksen Parkway; Incredible Pizza Company, 2744 S. 6th St.; & White Oaks Mall
Reminder ~ All students who took art 1st semester need to pick up all artwork from the art room. You can stop in before school or at lunch time. All work needs to be picked up by next week or it will be thrown away.
If you have already paid for your yearbook, you may pick it up in Ms. J-C Nosa's room — room 115 — after school.
The deadline for YELLOW PEPSI caps has been extended. Please continue to bring in the caps!
Students with library detentions are expected to serve the detention during the first 10 minutes of their lunch shift until the books are returned or the money for the books is paid. The detentions will be changing to after-school detentions the week of May 16th if you have not returned or paid for the books!
The JMS Talent Show will be Friday, May 13th from 1:30-2:30PM. Tickets will be on sale during the lunch shifts Thursday. Tickets will cost $1 each. There is a limited supply of tickets available. Don't miss out on the opportunity to see your fellow students show off their talents!
PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
Please join our Pennies for Patients campaign and help children with the blood-born cancers of leukemia and lymphoma. Bring your contributions to your first hour [B day] teacher. All types of change are welcome — not just pennies!
Camp Nkiru will take place at Springfield High School on June 20-July 29 from 9AM-4PM. The purpose of Camp Nkiru is to provide community youth with new ideas and opportunities that will empower them to make positive and life affirming choices that will improve their lives, their families' lives, and their community. For more information and applications, please see Ms. Austin in the Guidance Office.
DRESS CODE REMINDERS
Please comply with the JMS dress code. NO cargo shorts or cargo capris may be worn. You may NOT pin your polo shirts. You may not have emblems on your polo shirt. You may not wear a non-polo shirt to school.
Final exams will be given May 27th through June 3rd. We will not give finals early to accommodate family vacations. The last day of school is Monday, June 6th.
