TODAY IN HISTORY
On this day in 1969, the National and American Football Leagues announced plans to merge for the 1970-1971 football season. Two conferences made up of 13 teams each were formed.

IMSA
There will be an IMSA meeting after school today in room 217. Please bring your parent surveys. If you have any questions see Mrs. Horstman in room 217.

STATE SCIENCE FAIR COMPETITION
Congratulations to Phillip M. and Wyatt S. for receiving Bronze Certificates at the State Science Fair on Saturday. Their hard work should be applauded!

DRESS CODE REMINDERS
• No water bottles in classrooms.
• Students must wear uniform pants appropriately. No sagging and no rolled up pant legs!
• Capri pants and shorts may now be worn!

SPORTS
Track ~ NO track practice today! There is a track meet tomorrow at Jacksonville. Make sure you bring your uniform and sweats.

Springfield Youth Football League ~ Registration for tackle football for kindergarten through 8th grade will take place:
~ Saturday, May 15th from 9AM-1PM at Bank of Springfield Building - 9th & Madison
You must pay the $85 registration fee at time of registration. Checks should be made payable to SYF. Also, bring a copy of the player's birth certificate that the league can keep. Returning players do not have to do this. Please have the player with you for sizing! For more information, contact by email at

PAWS FOR READING
Keep reading and recording your minutes! Watch for posters in the main lobby that will be tracking your progress in the competition.

END OF THE YEAR TRIPS
Don't forget the end of the year trips! 6th & 7th graders will be going to Knight's Action Park on May 24th and 8th grade students will be going to 6 Flags on May 21st. In order to be eligible to go on either trip, you must be passing all of your classes, your attendance must be at least 91%, and you may not have any suspensions during 4th quarter.

Please turn in your reservations as soon as possible!

TALENT SHOW PARTICIPANTS
There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal for the talent show Wednesday after school. Meet in room 102 immediately after school. Bring all music and props that will be used for your act. If you do not come to the dress rehearsal you will no longer be in the talent show. See Mrs. Orama if you have any questions.

SHIRTS ON FRIDAYS
Every Friday until the end of the school year, 8th grade students may wear their 8th grade t-shirts. All other students may wear their JMS jaguar spirit shirts. The shirts cannot be altered in any way — no cutting and tying, no removal of sleeves, no writing added. You will still be expected to wear uniform pants. If you wish to purchase a spirit shirt, see Ms. Stewart in room 202.

YEARBOOKS
Yearbooks are in!! If you ordered one, you can pick it up from Ms. J-C in room 115. There are still a few left. Purchase yours today for $22.

STUDENT VIDEO CONTEST
The Student Film Club is announcing its 2nd annual student video contest.

Deadline: TODAY by 4PM
Fee: None!
Who: All central Illinois middle & high school students
Judge: Student Film Club members & some guests
Prize: 1st place ~ $150 — 2nd place ~ $75 — 3rd place ~ $25
