Today will be an inside day for lunch shifts. 6th & 8th grade boys will eat first and then switch with the girls in the gym.

TODAY IN HISTORY
On this day in 1979, Super Bowl XIII was played in Miami, Florida. It was the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Dallas Cowboys. The Steelers won 35-31. Steeler's quarterback Terry Bradshaw was voted the MVP of the game.

SPORTS
6th grade boys' basketball ~ No practice today. You will have practice on Friday from 4-5PM.

YEARBOOK CLUB
Yearbook club will meet today in room 115 from 2:30-4PM. See Ms. J-C with any questions!

HEALTH & SCIENCE ACADEMY APPLICATIONS
8th grade students ~ Please turn in your Health & Science applications to the Guidance Office today.

FRIDAY ~ SPIRIT DAY
Tomorrow is Color Day at JMS!

6th grade students & teachers should wear GREEN shirts with their uniform pants.
7th grade students & teachers should wear RED shirts with their uniform pants.
8th grade students & teachers should wear BLUE shirts with their uniform pants.

Students will still need to wear their uniform pants. No hoodies, spaghetti strap shirts, belly shirts, etc. will be allowed. The grade level with the most participation will receive treats at lunch next week.

CITY TOURNAMENT
The high school boys' basketball City Tournament starts tonight and continues through the weekend. Please be advised that this is a school function and school/District rules still apply. Consequences will be issued for misbehavior. Mrs. Johnson will be working security & will be able to identify JMS students. Come out and support our high school basketball teams in a positive way!

SCIENCE FAIR
Thank you to all the students & families who attended the Science Fair last night. The students did a great job presenting their projects. Congratulations to Phillip M., Kendra P., Katlin L., & Wyatt S. who were chosen to go to the Regional Science Fair at Lincoln Land Community College in March. Great job!

6th GRADE BOYS' NIGHT OUT
What: 6th grade Boys' Night Out
Who: Any JMS 6th grade boy
When: Friday, January 29th
Time: 6-8:30PM
Where: JMS Gym
Cost: $10

For a Boys' Night Out, come to JMS on January 29th from 6-8:30PM. For $10 you will receive a night of fun, food, & games. There will be pizza & snacks. You'll learn how to make edible poop, construct airplanes, do an engineering challenge, play video & board games, make marble & Tech Deck mazes, make a craft, & watch G-Force, the movie.

Please return your form & $10 to Mrs. Borders by Wednesday, January 27th.


MOVED?
If you have moved recently, please give the office the new information. We need your current address and phone contact information.

GUEST TEACHERS
At JMS, adults are in charge. When you have a guest teacher, you are expected to be respectful and helpful. Disrespect will not be tolerated.

SCHOOL STORE
The JMS School Store is open! Come to the main lobby before school and purchase school supplies.

SNACK ATTACK STORE
The Snack Attack Store is in the main lobby for after school before you board the buses. Each snack costs $1.

HALLWAY SWEEPS
In order to cut down on the number of students arriving tardy to class, we will continue having hallway sweeps this week. Once the tardy bell has rung, if you are not in class, you will be swept and consequences will be issued.

We will be doing hallway sweeps after school! If you are not being supervised by an adult, you will be in an all day buddy room.

YEARBOOKS
Last year's yearbooks are available for the low price of $10! See Ms. J-C in room 115.

DRESS CODE
Just a reminder ~ You may not wear a long-sleeved shirt under your short-sleeved uniform shirt. Girls ~ You may not tie your shirt in the back!
