TODAY IN HISTORY
On this day in 1908, President Theodore Roosevelt declared the Grand Canyon a national monument. Grand Canyon National Park includes over a million acres of land. Most people measure the canyon in river miles along the course of the Colorado River. That distance is 277 miles long.

Main Entree: Gilardi Cheese Sticks with Dipping Sauce; French Fries; Peas
A la Carte: Available in the back of the cafeteria starting Tuesday with pretzels & cheese.

PTC MEETING
There will be a PTC meeting tonight from 6-7PM in the library. All parents are invited to attend.

SPORTS
6th grade volleyball ~ Practice today from 5-6:30PM. You must leave and come back no earlier that 4:45PM. Enter through the back gym doors. Have a ride waiting at those same doors at 6:30PM.

7th & 8th grade girls' basketball ~ You should turn in your uniforms as soon as possible. Fines will be issued for missing uniforms.

6th grade boys' basketball ~ Practice today from 4-5PM.

SSRW SWAP
Ms. Harrison's 4th block SSRW and music classes will be held in room 113. Mr. Knox's 6th grade SSRW class will be moved to room 107. This is a permanent switch.

JSO
Come join us on Wednesday for the first JSO meeting of the new year! We are going to be planning our newest project so come and join us after school in Mrs. Huffman's room — room 113.

CRAZY HAIR DAY
Tomorrow will be CRAZY HAIR DAY! Come to school with your wildest hairdo! The grade level with the most participants will win a special treat at lunch. Come show your JMS PRIDE and come with WILD HAIR! You must still wear your school uniform.

TWILIGHT BOWLING FOR TECHNOLOGY
It's that time again — it's time for Twilight Bowling for Technology!

WHO: All JMS Students
WHEN: Sunday, January 17th
TIME: 9-11PM
WHERE: Laketown Lanes
Cost: $15 for 2 hours of bowling and your shoe rental

You must pay your $15 even if you don't bowl. This is a rule of the bowling alley.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH LUNCH
Friday will be our Student of the Month lunch.

MOVED?
If you have moved recently, please give the office the new information. We need your current address and phone contact information.

GUEST TEACHERS
At JMS, adults are in charge. When you have a guest teacher, you are expected to be respectful and helpful. Disrespect will not be tolerated.

SCHOOL STORE
The JMS School Store is open! Come to the main lobby before school and purchase school supplies.

SNACK ATTACK STORE
The Snack Attack Store is in the main lobby for after school before you board the buses. Each snack costs $1.

HALLWAY SWEEPS
In order to cut down on the number of students arriving tardy to class, we will continue having hallway sweeps this week. Once the tardy bell has rung, if you are not in class, you will be swept and consequences will be issued.

We will be doing hallway sweeps after school! If you are not being supervised by an adult, you will be in an all day buddy room.

YEARBOOKS
Last year's yearbooks are available for the low price of $10! See Ms. J-C in room 115.

DRESS CODE
Just a reminder ~ You may not wear a long-sleeved shirt under your short-sleeved uniform shirt. Girls ~ You may not tie your shirt in the back!
