Our mission is to produce world-class citizens.

Our expectations:
1. Good attendance of at least 91%.
2. Good education - grades of A/B or doing your very best; you will be prepared for tests, the next year, and for life!
3. Good behavior - Respect yourself. • Respect others. • Respect property.

It is never ok to be disruptive. It is never ok to be hurtful.

Mr. Tim!

On this day in 1955, the "Mother of the Civil Rights Movement" — Rosa Parks — was jailed for refusing to give up her seat on a public bus to a white man. This was a violation of the city's racial segregation laws at that time. Rosa's refusal to give up her seat led to the organization of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

7th & 8th grade students are not allowed in the 6th grade hallway unless their locker is in that hall, if they have Info Tech in room 116, or SSRW in a classroom in that hall. There will be consequences issued for ignoring this rule.

When you are in the halls between classes, please be respectful. Keep your voices at a reasonable volume, keep your hands & feet to yourself, walk quickly without running, and get to class on time!

Main Entree: Gyros; French Fries
A la Carte: Ice Cream & Cheese Sauce
Tomorrow's Breakfast: Breakfast Wraps

Today will be an outside day — take your jackets with you to the cafeteria!

7th & 8th grade girls' volleyball ~ 7th grade try outs are today from 6-7:30PM & Wednesday from 2:30-4PM. 8th grade try outs are Thursday & Friday from 3:30-5PM. Come prepared with tennis shoes, shorts, t-shirt, and hair pulled back.

7th/8th grade boys' basketball ~ Home game today at 4PM against Blessed Sacrament.

Would you like to win free admission to all of Jefferson's events here at school? It's easy! All you have to do is go to Jefferson's Barnes and Noble book fair this Thursday, December 3rd, give the identification number [available from your language arts teacher] to the clerk when you buy your book, and then bring the receipt to school on Friday with your name on the back. Put your signed receipt in the raffle box located by the library door and wait to be the lucky person who will have free admission to basketball games, dances, teachers vs. students games, and the fun fair.

With every purchase you make, Jefferson will receive a percent of the net sale. This money will go to purchase more books for our library.

Rude and inappropriate language and behavior will not be tolerated at after-school activities. Consequences will be issued. Those consequences could include you being banned from attending any after-school games or activities. Be polite. Watch your manners. Show good sportsmanship at all times.

If you have moved recently, please give the office the new information. We need your current address and phone contact information.

It has been brought to our attention that it is a safety issue having students sitting on the closed bleachers in the gym. Please DO NOT sit on the closed bleachers. If you are not involved in an activity in the gym and need to sit down, you will have to sit on the floor — not on the bleachers or the stage.

At JMS, adults are in charge. When you have a guest teacher, you are expected to be respectful and helpful. Disrespect will not be tolerated.

If you do not have a confirmed ride home from after-school activities ~ meaning your own parent or guardian has made arrangements to pick yp up on time from scheduled activities ~ then do not attend! Students without adequate transportation will be banned from attending all after-school activities. This includes participants/players and spectators!

If you are removed from a classroom and are taken to a Buddy Room, you will not be allowed to participate in or attend school basketball games.

The JMS School Store is open! Come to the main lobby before school and purchase school supplies.

The Snack Attack Store is in the main lobby for after school before you board the buses. Each snack costs $1.

In order to cut down on the number of students arriving tardy to class, we will continue having hallway sweeps this week. Once the tardy bell has rung, if you are not in class, you will be swept and consequences will be issued.

Just a reminder ~ Shorts or capris are no longer allowed as uniform choices until next spring. Also, you may not wear a long-sleeved shirt under your short-sleeved uniform shirt. Girls ~ You may not tie your shirt in the back!

You will no longer be allowed to wear colored plastic wrist bracelets at JMS. The colors of the bracelets carry meanings that are not acceptable for our school environment. Consequences will be issued to those who continue to wear the bracelets. Also, you may not wear ponytail elastic bands on your wrists.

Remember our school expectations:
Respect Yourself • Respect Others • Respect Property
