TODAY IN HISTORY
On this day in 1922, King Tut's tomb was discovered in Egypt in the Valley of the Kings. The tomb was hidden under a house that had been built for workers who were excavating the tomb of Ramses IV. King Tut became a king at the young age of 9 and died when he was 18 or 19.
12:27PM bell is the 7th grade tardy bell.
12:30PM bell is the dismissal bell for 8th grade to go to lunch. Please do not dismiss your students before this bell rings.
7th & 8th grade students are not allowed in the 6th grade hallway unless their locker is in that hall, if they have Info Tech in room 116, or SSRW in a classroom in that hall. There will be consequences issued for ignoring this rule.

Today will be an outside day unless we announce otherwise! Take your jackets with you to the cafeteria. You will not be allowed to go back to your locker after you eat before you go outside.
8th grade boys will use the stairs by the library and go to the cafeteria first. 8th grade girls will use the stairs by the gym and go outside first. After 15 minutes you will switch.

Tomorrow will be JMS Spirit Day for all grades! Wear your yellow jaguar shirt to school with the proper uniform pants to support our 7th & 8th grade boys basketball team who has their first home game tomorrow afternoon. If you do not have a shirt yet, you may purchase one from Ms. Stewart in room 202. If you participated in the Out of the Blue day and made a tie-dye shirt, you may wear that shirt tomorrow too!
We will have our fall dance on Friday evening from 6-8PM. It will cost $3 for admission. Feel free to dress in your Halloween costume. Keep in mind that all costumes must be appropriate for school.
It has been brought to our attention that it is a safety issue having students sitting on the closed bleachers in the gym. Please DO NOT sit on the closed bleachers. If you are not involved in an activity in the gym and need to sit down, you will have to sit on the floor — not on the bleachers or the stage.
At JMS, adults are in charge. When you have a guest teacher, you are expected to be respectful and helpful. Disrespect will not be tolerated.

In order to cut down on the number of students arriving tardy to class, we will continue having hallway sweeps this week. Once the tardy bell has rung, if you are not in class, you will be swept and consequences will be issued.
Just a reminder ~ Shorts or capris are no longer allowed as uniform choices until next spring. Also, you may not wear a long-sleeved shirt under your short-sleeved uniform shirt. Girls ~ You may not tie your shirt in the back!
You will no longer be allowed to wear colored plastic wrist bracelets at JMS. The colors of the bracelets carry meanings that are not acceptable for our school environment. Consequences will be issued to those who continue to wear the bracelets. Also, you may not wear ponytail elastic bands on your wrists.
