Today will be an outside day unless the weather changes. Please remember to clean up your eating area and push in your chair at your table. You will be asked to choose an outside activity. Do not go past the sidewalks. Once you reenter the building, use your inside voices because other students are in class.
Nachos with cheese will be sold at lunch tomorrow. You should go to lunch then come back to the main hallway to purchase your nachos. They cost $1.50.
• All 6th grade students need to have a physical in order to remain in school.
JMS SPIRIT CHALLENGE
The 8th grade is challenging all 7th & 6th grade students to a "Who Has More Spirit" day!
On October 1st, the grade level that comes to school with the highest percentage of yellow Jaguar t-shirts will be rewarded with an extra 10 minutes recess at lunch on October 2nd.
Shirts will be sold for $12 each at lunch or see Ms. Stewart in room 202.
The JMS School Store is open! Come to the main lobby before school and purchase school supplies.
SNACK ATTACK STORE
The Snack Attack Store is in the main lobby for after school before you board the buses. Each snack will cost $1.
• Cheerleading ~ The cheerleading squad is posted in the main lobby on the trophy case.
• 6th Grade Girls Basketball ~ You will have practice today after school until 4PM.
The dance team will start next week on Tuesday, Sept. 29th. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Austin in room 110.
We want students to be here every day! JMS needs to have at least 92% attendance everyday. We will have fun activities for those who attain a 95% attendance rate. Currently we have 213 students with perfect attendance — 79 6th, 77 7th, & 57 8th! Keep up the good attendance!

YEARBOOK CLUB FUNDRAISER
Help support the JMS Yearbook Club by going to Burger King!

Simply print out the coupon from the JMS homepage and Burger King will donate 20% of your purchase to the Yearbook Club. For more information, please see Ms. J-C in room 115.
In order to cut down on the number of students arriving tardy to class, we will begin having hallway sweeps this week. Once the tardy bell has rung, if you are not in class, you will be swept. The consequences are:
1st Sweep ~ warning & a phone call to your parents
2nd Sweep ~ after-school detention & a phone call to your parents
3rd Sweep ~ parent conference, all-day buddy room, & after-school detention
MUSEUM TECH ACADEMY
The Museum Tech Academy is a free after-school program for students in 7th through 9th grade. Sessions begin September 23rd. There will be an Open House at the Museum's Research and Collections Center on 10 1/2 Street between Laurel and Ash Streets on Saturday, September 19th from 1-4PM.

COLLEGE EXPO/PEP RALLY
Big dreams and good grades aren't enough to get into college. There are actual steps you need to take. Come to White Oaks Mall Food Court on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd for a College Expo/Pep Rally from 6-8:30PM. For more information, call 217-753-4900, extension 213.
