TODAY IN HISTORY
On this day in 1866, the rotary crank bicycle was patented by Pierre Lallement in Paris, France. The bike was nicknamed the bone shaker!

CAFETERIA
Main Entree: Burritos; French Fries; Cauliflower with Cheese
Tomorrow's Breakfast: Cheese Omelets
Tomorrow's Lunch: Turkey Dinner!

We will be selling cheese sauce for 35ยข a cup today. It will be on the front line in the gravity feeder with a sign.

Please remember to take a jacket with you to lunch. It is getting cold outside and you are not allowed to go back to your locker after you eat.

You must eat or drink all snacks before you leave the cafeteria. Nothing is allowed outside! Clean up after yourself in the cafeteria.

Students ~ You must sit on the correct side of the cafeteria. Lunch detentions will be given if you are on the wrong side!

EXPLORE TESTING
We are giving the EXPLORE test to 8th grade students this week. Please be quiet and respectful in the halls.

YEARBOOKS
Yearbooks are on sale. The cost is $23. Bring a check made payable to Jefferson Middle School or cash to Mr. Battles in the main office to place your order.

SPORTS NEWS
7th/8th grade boys basketball ~ Your game for today has been cancelled. No practice today either. Additional information on your game and practice schedules will be made available as soon as possible.

Cheerleaders ~ Because of all the schedule changes, we will have no practice today. We will get new practice schedules to you tomorrow.

6th grade boys basketball ~ practice tomorrow [Friday] from 2:30 - 4PM

7th/8th grade girls basketball ~ game Saturday; bus leaves at 7:30AM — be sure to eat breakfast!

7th/8th grade volleyball ~ Tryouts will be on December 1st for 7th & 8th grade girls only. If you are interested, please attend all days for tryouts to be considered for the team. Times will be announced soon.

BETA CLUB
Please support the Salvation Army Canned Food Drive! Win a pizza party for your class. The class that brings in the most food per student wins. Start bringing your canned goods and non-perishable items on December 1st. Take them to your 1st hour teacher unless you have a 1st hour elective class. We will be accepting canned goods through December 15th.

ART NEWS
Thank you again to all of the students who helped with the Festival of Trees. Mrs. Magruder would like to thank Mitchell P. for making all of the oragami flowers! The JMS tree placed and won 3rd place in the competition! Congratulations to all for all of your hard work!

CHANGE OF ADDRESS
If you have moved, please be sure to give all of your new information to Mrs. Frye in the Guidance Office.

TARDY
Students ~ Please be mindful of getting to class on time. do not dilly dally around in the hall. You have 3 minutes to hurry to class. You are not allowed to go to your locker between classes. If you are dropping off your computer before going to lunch, you are not allowed to go to the cafeteria early. Stay in that classroom until the dismissal bell rings.

PTC FUNDRAISER DELIVERY
The PTC butter braids and candles are scheduled for delivery on Tuesday, November 25th after school.

PASSES
No passes should be issued during class time! If students are found in the hallway, they will be escorted back to your room.

PBIS/BIST NEWS
Don't forget to turn in your PRIDE cards for prizes! There will be another "Out of the Blue" day next week.

GUEST TEACHERS
Whenever you have a guest teacher, you are to show him/her the same respect as you would your regular teacher. The guest teacher knows the BIST procedures. If you are asked to go to the Safe Seat, you must move to the Safe Seat. If you must be removed from the classroom, you will be escorted to room 109 and issued two after-school detentions.
