No school tomorrow in honor of Veteran's Day!

TODAY IN HISTORY
On this day in 1969, the most widely viewed children's show "Sesame Street" debuted. This show has taught generations of children the alphabet and how to count. Everyone knows its theme song — "Can you tell me how to get .... How to get to Sesame Street?"

TOMORROW IN HISTORY
Tuesday, November 11th
At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the First World War ended. At 5AM that morning, Germany signed an armistice agreement with the Allies. World War I was known as the "war to end all wars" because of the great slaughter and destruction it caused.

November 11th, Veteran's Day, is a day that honors not only those who fought in WWI, but also those who have participated in any war or conflict to keep our nation free and safe.

CAFETERIA
Main Entree: Sloppy Joe's; French Fries; Corn-on-the-Cob; Cole Slaw
Wednesday's Breakfast: Cinnamon Glazed Toast

Please remember to take a jacket with you to lunch. It is getting cold outside and you are not allowed to go back to your locker after you eat.

You must eat or drink all snacks before you leave the cafeteria. Nothing is allowed outside! Clean up after yourself in the cafeteria.

Students ~ You must sit on the correct side of the cafeteria. Lunch detentions will be given if you are on the wrong side!

PTC MEETING
There will be a PTC meeting tonight in the library at 6PM. Please tell your parents they are invited to attend this meeting.

IMSA
IMSA will meet after school today in room 206.

PICTURE RETAKES
Picture retakes will be Thursday, November 13th. If you were absent or if your pictures had a mistake, bring them with you so you can retake your picture.

YEARBOOKS
Yearbooks are on sale. The cost is $23. Bring a check made payable to Jefferson Middle School or cash to Mr. Battles in the main office to place your order.

SPORTS NEWS
7th/8th Boys Basketball ~ game at Glenwood at 5:30PM tonight
7th/8th Girls Basketball ~ game at JMS at 4:30PM today

SCHWAN'S FUNDRAISER
Orders will be accepted through the end of the day today. Delivery will be Thursday, November 13th. Customers will pay the Schwan's representative for their purchases at the time of pick-up at Jefferson.

HOT COCOA FOR HEROES
JMS students will be collecting hot cocoa for soldiers overseas. Bring the hot chocolate packets to Mrs. Huffman's room, room 113, and help us fill the bin!

LAPTOPS & PASSING PERIODS
7th & 8th grade students ~ you may only get your laptop from your assigned cart during passing periods. If you are late coming to school or tardy for class, you must wait until the next passing period to get your laptop. You may not interrupt a teacher's class after the tardy bell has rung.

Those students who have met all of the requirements, will be allowed to take home their laptop on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings only. They will never go home over weekends or holidays.

Since tomorrow is a holiday, laptops will not be going home today. The only day laptops will go home this week will be Wednesday.

NACHOS
Thursday, we will be selling yummy nachos for $1 at lunch.

JEOPARDY! CLUE CREW
On Wednesday, we will have the Jeopardy! Clue Crew from the TV show Jeopardy at JMS! Some of Ms. Swaggerty's & Ms. Stewart's students, 30 student total, will be filmed for the classroom version of the show.

DONUTS WITH DAD
Thursday is Donuts with Dad for 7th grade students. Invite your dad to come at 8AM in the cafeteria.

PE REMINDERS
• Students ~ you should drop off your PE clothes in the locker room at 7:50 AM when you enter the building.

• Students who have PE 4th block need to put their uniforms back on at the end of class. You may not leave the gym for dismissal in your gym clothes.

• Students are not allowed on the stage! The expensive stage curtains are being damaged. Stay off the stage at all times!

ATTENDANCE
It is very important that you come to school everyday! Come to school and be prepared to learn each and every day of the school year. We need to maintain at least a 90% attendance rate for meeting AYP.

PASSES
No passes should be issued during class time! If students are found in the hallway, they will be escorted back to your room.

PBIS/BIST NEWS
Don't forget to turn in your PRIDE cards for prizes!

GUEST TEACHERS
Whenever you have a guest teacher, you are to show him/her the same respect as you would your regular teacher. The guest teacher knows the BIST procedures. If you are asked to go to the Safe Seat, you must move to the Safe Seat. If you must be removed from the classroom, you will be escorted to room 109 and issued two after-school detentions.
