Cell phones are to be kept in your locker at all times during the school day. You may not carry them in your pocket. You may not use them or carry them at lunch. If you choose to break the rule, your phone will be taken from you and it will be held in the main office. A parent will have to come to school to retrieve it.

Students are not to leave the classroom without a pass and an escort. Teachers ~ please be sure to leave specific sub plans stating that no students are to be in the hallways.

Teachers — if there is a student in violation of the dress code, please fill out a minor referral and call for an escort to room 110.

No hornets or rubber bands are allowed at Jefferson! If you choose to have them in your possession, there will be severe consequences.

This is National Breakfast Week!

8th graders ~ would you like to win a scholarship to Lincoln Land Community College? Please see your science teacher for more information. An information sheet will be sent home this week.

8th graders ~ applications for the health and science academy at Southeast are due by tomorrow, Friday, March 9th.

Students ~ if you have money for Kicks cards, bring it to the main office.

Beta club members will meet today at lunch during the 7th and 8th grade lunch shifts.

All-City practice is today. 9 Band students should leave at 10:15 AM and will eat at 12:30 PM. 7 Choir students should eat on the first lunch shift. Choir students should leave at 11:30 AM with Mr. Battles and will return at 1:45 PM.

All-City Concert is tonight at Sangamon Auditorium at UIS at 7 PM. This is open to the public and FREE! Join us and see some of our current and former students perform.

Our next meet is today at Jefferson versus Lincoln Magnet and Grant. Players ~ have your t-shirts and be in Miss Flesher's room at 2:35 PM. The first match starts at 3 PM.

ISATs will be given March 12 through 16. Be sure to get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast, and do your best on the test! Attendance during this time is very important.

There will be a sign up for track today. The 6th graders will sign up with Mr. Blunk in room 101. The 7th graders will meet with Ms. Naples in the cafeteria. The 8th graders will meet with Mr. Taylor in the cafeteria. Practice will begin Monday, March 12th.

Physicals need to be submitted to the school before students may begin participating. A physician will be at school on Wednesday, March 14th, for those who need to see him. Physicals will cost $10.

6th grade volleyball practice will be today from 2:30-4 PM.

Saturday, March 10th from 8 AM - Noon, there will be a hands-on math/science/technology conference at UIS for girls only. See your math teacher for more information. Pick up a brochure and take it home!
