Cell phones are to be kept in your locker at all times during the school day. You may not carry them in your pocket. You may not use them or carry them at lunch. If you choose to break the rule, your phone will be taken from you and it will be held in the main office. A parent will have to come to school to retrieve it.

Students are not to leave the classroom without a pass and an escort. Teachers ~ please be sure to leave specific sub plans stating that no students are to be in the hallways.

Teachers — if there is a student in violation of the dress code, please fill out a minor referral and call for an escort to room 110.

No hornets or rubber bands are allowed at Jefferson! If you choose to have them in your possession, there will be severe consequences.

A la Carte: Cheese sauce for 25¢ & pickles 75¢ will be sold during 6th & 7th grade lunch shifts only!

Students ~ during 7th hour today you will receive your ISAT result scores from last school year. Please be sure to show this to your parents.

ISATs will be given March 12 through 16. Be sure to get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast, and do your best on the test! Attendance during this time is very important.

There will be a sign up for track next Wednesday, March 7th. The 6th graders will sign up with Mr. Blunk in room 101. The 7th graders will meet with Mr. Taylor in the cafeteria. The 8th graders will meet with Ms. Naples in the cafeteria. Physicals need to be submitted to the school before students may begin participating.

Math Counts will meet today after school in Ms. Hargrove's room.

All-City choir field trip is tomorrow.

J-Jazz will practice today after school.

No 6th grade band this week. Plan on meeting for band next Tuesday, March 6th.

Since the African American Heritage Bowl is today, the SSRW Book Give-Away for this month will take place tomorrow, March 1st.

Please make sure your SSRW tickets are in the blue box just inside the library door by the copy machine.

Any color ticket can be placed in the box.

You must be present in school tomorrow to win a book!

Please have your parents complete and return the same gender survey sent home last week. It is important that this survey is returned as soon as possible.

Teachers ~ If you have any completed surveys, please bring them to the office.

8th grade students —
If you are interested in learning about the Health & Science Academy at Southeast High School, please see Mrs. Gordy to sign up for a visit to SE. This visit will be Thursday, March 1st at 10:30 AM. You must complete a permission slip.

Saturday, March 10th from 8 AM - Noon, there will be a hands-on math/science/technology conference at UIS for girls only. See your math teacher for more information. Pick up a brochure and take it home!

A special thank you goes to all the students who participated in the daily questions. You will receive an invitation to Wednesday's African American Heritage Bowl finals.

Today anchorman Jerry Lambert will host the final rounds of the African American Heritage Bowl.

Ms. C. Wells' 6th grade 5th hour students — Leslie Dollarhide, Dalton Cave, Michael Price, Kyeriana Walton, and Brandon Brunner — will compete against her 2nd hour students — Shelbi Strayer, Jessica Lucy, Shaquita Banks, Jeri Woodson, and Devin Robinson.

Ms. J. Wells' 8th grade 1st hour students — Elissa Marsh, Shayla Pickett, Ariel Zoll, Jesse Nelson, and Alex Nelch — will compete against her 7th hour students — Tom Hamilton, Sean Sullivan, Anthony Graham, Mike Dobson, and Cole Bates.
