Morning Announcements:
• Cafeteria News
Students — please remember to sit on the appropriate side of the cafeteria during your lunch period! Mrs. Gordy and Mrs. Lawrence will be writing detentions for those that choose to sit on the wrong side of the cafeteria.

Main Entree: Gyros

Reminder: No flavored water, sport drink, or juice drinks will be allowed into the building after lunch!

• Fundraiser
Today is the last day to turn in your fundraiser orders and money!

• Welcome Back to School Dance
Our 1st dance of the year will be held today from 6-8 PM. There will be a $3 admission charge. This activity is for Jefferson students only — no exceptions!

There will be a special "spotlight dance" area on the stage. Students will be able to show off their dance moves for only $1 per dance.

You do not have to wear your uniform. You do have to wear appropriate clothing — no halter tops, no spaghetti strap tops, no sagging pants, etc.

• Band & Music News
J-Jazz will meet Monday after school with a choreographer.

6th grade band students: Friday, 1st hr - saxophones; 3rd hr - clarinets. Please come whether or not you have an instrument!

• Give Booker T a Voice!
Booker T has lost his voice! If you would like to be the voice of Booker T Bookworm, see the Word Bird [AKA Mrs. Boosinger] in the library during your lunch hour. She will have an application for you to fill out.

• Dress Code
Most of our students are doing a great job complying with the new enhanced dress code. However there are a few students that are still having trouble finding the correct clothes to wear.

Please remember:
1) absolutely no striped polo shirts
2) no stripes on the sleeve edges or collar edges of the polo shirts
3) no emblems or brand designs anywhere on the shirt
4) no button all of the way down the front shirts

Colors of collared polo shirts allowed:
1) yellow
2) navy blue
3) gray
4) white

Remember — no neckties are to be worn. Also, if you wear a t-shirt under your polo shirt, the t-shirt must be tucked in. The t-shirt should not be showing. Please remember that sleeveless shirts are not allowed.

Teachers — if there is a student in violation of the dress code, please fill out a minor referral and call for an escort to room 110.

• Info Packets
Several forms that need to be signed and returned were sent home with your student on August 22nd, the first day of school. Please read, sign and return these forms as quickly as possible.

• Planners
Attention students: all students must purchase a planner by today. This is required! The planners cost $5 and can be purchased from your teacher.

• Cell Phones
Please remember that all cell phones must be in your lockers. You may not have them out during the school day. If you are seen with your cell phone, it will be taken away from you. A parent will have to come to school to retrieve your phone from the main office.

• Bottled Drinks
Students — you must finish drinking your bottled drinks before you come in after lunch! No bottles will be allowed in the building after lunch recess. If you have not finished drinking it, you will be asked to throw it away before entering the building.

• Student Support Program
Mrs. Rennison is Jefferson's Student Support Leader. If you have a problem and would like to talk to her, tell your teacher. You may also see her in the halls before school, at lunch or after school.

Remember our school expectations:
Respect Yourself
Respect Others
Respect Property

If you receive a PRIDE card from one of your teachers, put it in your grade's jar in the lunch line in the cafeteria. Once a week PRIDE cards will be drawn for prizes. Once a month PRIDE cards will be drawn for "Out of the Blue" days.

Mrs. Rennison will also be visiting classrooms and handing out birthday pencils to those celebrating birthdays that day!
