Every Wednesday, we will have the following inside activities:
• Reading Room in the library
• Game Room for educational board games
• Educational TV programming in the cafeteria
Outside activities every day will include:
• Walk 'n Talk
• Playing on the playground equipment
Everyone will be expected to actively participate in one of these activities.
If you have a change of address or phone number, please notify Mrs. Frye in the Guidance Office.
Teal & aqua are not acceptable uniform shirt colors.
You may NOT wear shirts or sweatshirts with signatures all over them.
Earbuds/headphones must be out of your ears before you enter the building. If you do not, a staff member may take them from you and place them in the main office tagged with your name for pick up later.
Gentlemen ~ Please NO sagging of pants or shorts! If you have belt loops on your shorts or pants, you must wear a belt.
Walkers must arrive at school by 7:45AM in order to eat breakfast & have full choices of items available.
7th & 8th graders must use their assigned stairs — do not use the 6th grade hall as a shortcut!
Nooks & Kindles may NOT be brought to school.
Keep your hands to yourselves!
Restroom passes must remain in your planner. Any restroom pass sheet that is torn out of a planner will NOT be valid. You may NOT use someone else's restroom passes. If you do, you will receive inhouse as a consequence.
Please remember to be quiet in the halls especially during lunch shifts in the 6th grade hall.
Please be sure to check the "Jaguar News" bulletin board in the main lobby for important information.
Please remember to get to class on time. In the mornings, you should not be going into other classrooms to visit with your friends. Come in, go to your locker, get your supplies, go directly to your class!
Please do not share your combination with a friend. If you are having trouble opening your locker, ask an adult for help. Also, do not leave your locker "set" to open. Do NOT share your locker with anyone. If you do, you will receive inhouse as a consequence.
Gum is not allowed at JMS!
No food is allowed on buses. You may have a water bottle.
You may NOT use the hall passes that are in your planner — X them out. You may only use the restroom passes.
Binders & textbooks should NOT be left in the halls or on tables in the halls. These are your responsibility. You must put them in your locker when you are not carrying them to class!
Binders must be carried to ALL classes including your electives. If you need a replacement binder, see your guidance dean.
Behavior on our activity buses needs to improve! If you cannot behave on the activity bus, you will not be allowed to ride. Your parent/guardian will have to come pick you up after your after-school activities.
CELL PHONE POLICY
Effective Tuesday, January 20th, students cannot be in possession of cell phones during school hours. All cell phones must be kept in lockers. If a locker is damaged and will not lock, please notify the administration.
• PE Clothes
Please take all PE clothes to the locker room before school starts in the morning. If you have any questions, see Mr. Knox or Mr. Tyler.
• Brain Boosters
Brain Boosters will meet in the library on Tuesdays & Thursdays after school!
• Movie Night
Mark your calendar for Family Movie Night for Wednesday night from 5:30-7:30PM. We will be watching the movie Selma Lord Selma. There will be prizes, food and discussion time after the movie. Please return your RSVP by the end of the day Tuesday.
• 21st Century
21st Century after-school program is back at JMS! The start date is Tuesday, February 17th. The program will run Monday through Thursday from 2:30-5:30PM. Pay attention for more information that will be coming soon!

• After-School Homework Help
6th grade students:
Would you like to be more successful in school and in life? Do you like the idea of planning and working toward your future? If so, join the Principal’s Scholar Program. We meet Monday and Tuesdays after school from 2:30 until 4pm. You will have ½ hour to complete homework. You will also explore careers and colleges using technology, set long term and short-term goals, and learn the tools for becoming successful. See Mrs. Hopper or Ms. Petty-Meyer for an application.
Applications are due on Friday, February 13th.
Time is running out for ordering your yearbook at the discounted $20 per book price. Starting February 16th, the price increases to $25 each. Order forms are available in the Jaguar News, from room 219 or during your lunch shift in the lobby.
• Box Tops 4 Education
We will be collecting Box Tops again this year! Please turn them in to your 1st hour teacher. Classes that collect the most have an opportunity to earn prizes.

Please remember to follow all school rules & to show proper sportsmanship when attending a school sporting event. If you are removed from an event, whether at JMS or another school, you may be banned from attending any future extra-curricular events for the remainder of the school year.
Congratulations to our 7th grade team on their 3rd place finish in State competition last night! We are proud of you!
6th grade practice today from 2:30-4PM.
Tomorrow's games are at GMS against FMS. B team plays at 8AM & A team plays at 8:45AM.
Track tryouts will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd for girls and Thursday, March 5th for boys. Participants need to bring running clothes and shoes on the tryout dates. All participants need to have a sports' physical on file with the school before tryouts. There will be a sign up sheet for all interested athletes outside the cafeteria on Wednesday and Thursday, February 18th & 19th. You must put your name on the list so that we can check eligibility and physicals. Please direct any question to Mr. Blunk in room 215 or Ms. Guerrero in room 110.
